Glad to see him still in the show, glad to see him still in Texas.  I know why he hasn't worked out in the NBA, but I still like the kid.

Ditto
I love my kids, call me a sap - it's true.

I'll be the first to say Gerald is going to dominate and work his way into an impact role.

I like Gerald and wish him the best. I just worry about his work ethic when he couldn't get minutes on one of the worst teams last year.

ur right, the ballboy/ towel boy role makes quite the impact on a team.  teams cant function without them ;)

in all seriousness, i dont care for gerald one way or another. if he does well, cool.  if he stinks it up and is out of the league, oh well.

You may be the last one to say it as well.

J Kidd may make GG look like an actual NBA player - and since there only D you'll find in Dallas is the D in Dallas (wow its late) he may actually get some court time - I expect highlight reel stuff and not many wins

Yup, don't underestimate the impact of a guy like Jason Kidd.
GG's potential has always been high, and the athleticism is there, he just needs to learn to use his tools.
Working with one of the best pointguards to ever play the game might be just the thing he needs to turn himself around.

My favorite part of the announcement is "NBA Journeyman Green signs with Dallas" on ESPN.com

Love how he's a journeyman already

This is an interesting quote from the article, from Donnie Nelson:

"The hope is that he'll be able to come in and earn the minutes," Nelson said. "Who knows, maybe the light goes on."

It doesn't sound like they are expecting much.

I remember watching him last summer in Vegas, he was the most athletic guy on any team, but he just seemed like he was coasting whereas Rondo and Big Baby were working hard... just my observation.
Now, on to 18...

If he played well, he might get into the rotation. In theory, he's a great fit for the Mavericks, as they have no one who even approaches that level of athleticism.

Theory, however, is not actuality. And if Green does not put in the hours, Kidd will sneer him right out of the gym.

Which Jason Kidd are you talking about?  The one who tanks for the trade or the one who plays to his talent?  There are two Jason Kidds out there.

Hopefully Gerald gets the second one.
