I thought the line "K.G. also thanked " 'Sota," which I assume is his tragically hip-hop way of saying Minnesota." is funny. What is she 85 years old? I'm white as a picket fence but I'd never consider the word Sota' "his tragically hip-hop way".

Amazing that they actally published this piece of crap.

I didn't find KG's "You look good, girl" anything but goofy, like the rest of his post-game interview.

As stated earlier, the NBA has a tradition where players joke around with sideline reporters in their on court interviews, with Craig Sager's clown suit wardrobe the prime example.  The players treating Tafoya the same way is more a sign of respect than a sign of sexism. And the use of "girl" was more slang than sexism too.

This is sad.  Sexism is rampant in the US.

It would be perfectly acceptable for a woman to tell a man he looks good.  In fact, I can recall it happening many times when the dress code was first put it.  No articles, no questioning of marital vows, no second thoughts.

But when a man tells a woman she looks good?  Its offensive and we've got to write an article about it.

So now, a compliment is a "pass"?!
Please just shut up, you stupid woman.
If 'Sota had just been crowned champions
would the words have been the same?
I THINK NOT.
I don't know what that "CJ" thing
stands for.
To me it spells
COMPLETELY JEALOUS!

I loved every second of KG's post game interview.  It was beautiful seeing someone who worked so hard for something, finally achieve it.  He was completely overwhelmed with emotion and joy.  Give me that over a scripted sound bite any day.

I also loved KG's antics in the locker room with Dickerson.

Dickerson:  Can you explain the best you can in words....

KG (while dumping beer on Dickerson): I can explain it!  I can explain it!  WE WON!  WE WON! WE WON! OH MY GOD!  I'M GETTIN EVERYBODY!!!  (starts dumping beer on everyone in site)  I'M GETTIN EVERYBODY!  AHHHHHHHH!  MAN!   My god......

Dickerson:  Kevin!  The city of Boston embraced you from the day that you came here.  The crowd was such a huge factor tonight and all season long.

KG: The crowd was great tonight.  They gave us energy from the jump.  And we fed off man.  We plugged in.  We never turned around man.  We wanted to make this a statement game tonight.  We was mad that we didn't win game 5.  And tonight was a statement game.

Dickerson:  And it was kind of appropos.  Defense is what did it for you tonight and it's done it all season long.

KG:  It's been the backbone man.  It's been the reason we won games.  Exactly how we won games.  Exactly how we won games....

(KG no longer able to contain himself turns to dump beer on an unknown person)

I don't know this guy but HE GOT TO GET IT!  HE GOT TO GET IT!  HE GOT TO GET IT!   OH MY GOD..  (unintelligible celebrating  ....  I'M GETTIN YOU!

KG (back to Dickerson):  Other than my kid being born, this is the happiest day of my life man.

Dickerson:  When will you sleep again?

KG:  I have no idea, I'll tell you in training camp next year.

Dickerson:  Can you think and remember, go all the way back to Italy when this thing started, or even before that when you guys got together in September before that.

KG:  When we got together, we knew the potential was there to be something special.  I'm telling that Tibbs laid down the defense.  Doc and Arman laid down the offense.  And we never questioned it, we just went along with it.  It challenged us at times, but at the same time, just listened to it and went along with it.

Dickerson:  There were a lot of people who qeustioned Doc Rivers last year.

KG:  But they can't say nothing now.  YOU CANT SAY NOTHING NOW!    AHHHHHHH  (dumping beer on Tony Allen).    WHAT THEY GONNA SAY NOW?  AHHHHHHH.   YEAH!  YEAH!  HELL YEAH BOY!

Dickerson:  What do you say about.....

KG:  I want ya'll to know this is the official party... for the locker room...  You have an official pass.. RIGHT NOW!....  I'm your host... Kevin Garnet... aka  The Champion for the evening...    WOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Old "CJ" needs to get a life! All the stuff that went down after that game and this is the crap he chooses to twist and write about?!? Bizarre, to say the least ... I think the author here is the one with a "thing" for Tafoya ... he sounds like a jealous ten-year-old! Michelle should have had enough brains in the first place to know that KG would be in his own world for at least an hour or two, and should never have chosen him to interview in the first place, or at least have gotten the message after her first question. As far as the comment, he was being gracious, not "coming on" to her, and making a pass was the last thing on Garnett's mind at that moment. What a couple of truly idiotic and immature articles, and the whole idea behind them is absolutely absurd!

this woman sucks!

does she write articles when the players comment on craig sagers suits? it was done in the same fashion.

bingo!!! i made the same exact analogy in an email i sent back to ms "CJ". not gonna post the whole thing but here are 2 excepts from what i sent her in reply to this ridiculous attack:

"And he is cordial and open and friendly with all those he interviews. Why must you assume what he says has a hidden agenda? Earlier this season on MORE THAN ONE occasion during interviews with Craig Sager from TNT sports Garnett has made comments about Sager's attire not looking good or "not working" as he said. By your understanding we should assume Garnett does not like talking to Sager and meant to hurt him. But KG jokes with everyone. Yes maybe KG knew Tafoya already(a fact you yourself cannot even confirm) and he had a rapport with her that allowed him to make a comment that he knew would not be misinterpreted."

and also this being her biggest slip up:

"TWICE you go out of your way to mention KG was out of her league, TWICE you make the pathetic joke about asking her for Tafoya for what perfume she wears so you know not to get it. If I was Tafoya I might be insulted that you would question her journalistic integrity. You have actually just reduced Michelle Tafoya to a pair of breasts and nice perfume. Congrats CJ. You've just sent the women's movement back about 20 years."

but not only is she getting this email but 9 other columnists and editors at that rag. whether they read it or not i dont care. but who knows, maybe one or 2 of them have a joke at her expense and that would be alright with me.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

Fortunately, we know better.
Jealousy is an ugly thing, indeed...

Btw, beautiful sig there, maestro.
I'm quite euphoric, too, I may add  ;)
Let's just hope Cristiano stays!
I'm sorry, Real fans, but I hate your
club more than I hate the LA Crybabies.
There, it's out!  ;D

i know we all know better, but i mean she's done it because perhaps she wants to further her career, that's the only reason i can come up with for such a stupid, inaccurate and thoughtless piece.

and yeah, i love the sig too. i'll be changing it though when i get home tomorrow as a) it's not in keeping with forum rules (too large) and b) i'll be changing it from ronaldo to someone else. if he wants to go let him, for the money he'll leave for we can buy three players and end up better. good riddens i say, no one is bigger than the club. sorry for my non-topic-related rant, thank acf for it ;)
