Assumptions/Out of bounds comments made by the media lately:
- KG was hitting on a reporter on naitonal TV.
- KG acted like he has "developmental issues" (after the 12-year pro had just won his first NBA title)
- Interviewees (KG in particular) must like Michelle since she has big boobs.
- KG is not as intellectually sophisticated as either Michelle Tafoya or Phil Jackson (an assumption made by looking at KG's actions ON the court).
- KG's "'sota" reference was too hip-hoppy.
- Peanut...

Other media outlets:
- Paul Pierce dragged KG's dead body over the finish line of the season.
- KG is a classless winner.
- KG is a fake.
- KG isn't clutch.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER COMMENTS THAT THE MEDIA WANTS TO MAKE ABOUT KG? BECAUSE I'VE HAD IT WITH THE MEDIA AT THIS POINT!

This is amazing.I can't believe that someone could be so happy with their " What perfume do you wear?" quip that they'd be shallow enough to print basically the same article twice.

What athlete makes a pass on national television? Well, other than Joe Namath, who takes a risk like that?

  • You know my methods, Watson.
the article is stupid, but it's a necessary part of our "wussified" society...

i, personally, was a bit disappointed in KG's post-game interview...i grew up during the bird era, and those guys didn't feel the need to howl at the moon and scream at the top of their lungs...they intelligently answered questions.  i'm not a fan of a grown man carrying on - sorry, just have a dissenting view of how athletes act these days.  just with they'd pipe down a little and act a bit more mature.

Ridiculous!  KG does the same thing with Craig Sager when he does the interview.  It is his way of trying to end the interview.

A very interesting article on KG's interview:

http://www.slate.com/id/2193863/

Quote
(...)
In perhaps the strangest postgame interview of the television era, an ecstatic KG talked, shouted, and raved for two and a half minutes in the general direction of ABC sideline reporter Michele Tafoya.
(...)
1:14: Garnett screams into the camera, "I made it ma! Top of the world! TOP OF THE WORLD!" That's exactly what James Cagney's maniacal, cackling gangster character says at the end of White Heat as he dies in a fiery explosion atop a gigantic gas tank. This explains a lot about KG's self-image.
(...) Now, even the stiffest upper lip in Boston has to be quivering as Garnett and his forebear embrace. "I got one of my own," says Garnett. "I got my own." He steps back, looks at Russell, and says "I hope we made you proud."

A less weird individual might have left it at that, but Garnett has one more line for his mentor: "Now you got to tell me where to go tonight." Russell last won a championship for Boston in 1969. Unless the Celtics always celebrate their championships at the Warren Tavern (est. 1780), the old man's advice isn't going to be that useful. But this is at once a great statement of Garnett's respect for Celtic tradition and of how dedicated he's been to returning the franchise to its former glory

Read the whole thing, as they say.

If the writer knew that Tafoya and Garnett had spoken countless times as professionals in Minnesota, I would think she would be intellectually intelligent enough to figure out that they may have become friends and the comment was just an innocuous compliment between friends.

Or is she just jealous of Tafoya so she's throwing some man-hate KG's way?

There's so much coverage of the NBA Finals and the C's in general about their Championship run I'm guessing these writers had to find some darn angle to cover and write about just to make their deadlines.

It's either that or they are extremely jealous of Michelle Tafoya.

This lady beclowned herself. First of all, what was with writing the same article (basically) twice? Just wait for the call back about the perfume and publish one article or leave it as it was. What a joke. Secondly - KG definitely talks like a "thug", "you look good girl" versus "you're looking very nice tonight", but complimenting anyone on how they look is only disallowed by psychotic thought police that brought you things such as "ethics training", "diversity training", and "sexual harassment training". Great.

This lady should stick to writing lifestyle pieces about how people look, oh wait, never mind.

tafoya and kg have a relationship that goes back to minny - i think she was one of the first people to interview him when he entered the league. they're old friends. that anyone is even making an issue out of this is ridiculous. as for his howling, etc...kg has spent most of his career surrounding by junk in a monster western conference, yet always been thought of as a guy who just can't win. totally unfair criticism, but he's been hearing it 24/7 for most of his career, despite the fact that he left everything on the court every night, despite the fact that he was loyal to his team, despite the fact that he wasn't in any real trouble, despite the fact that he's a rare unselfish superstar. none of the older celtic teams or players EVER had anything around them quite like that. criticized, yes, but not like kg has been, for basically their entire careers. i wish he didn't bust out a bunch of profanities, but it was all understandable. imagine bird hearing the crap kg heard for 10+ years if he played on teams with no other real talent. i'd bet larry legend would explode with emotion after winning his first title 10+ seasons into the league.

It's amazing how many people hate the Celtics even more after they win a championship. ::)  Sounds like jealousy to me.

All these people that are talking smack about the Celtics are just sour grapes because they picked or wanted the Lakers to win and they were dead wrong.  Just think about how stupid ESPN looked after featuring Kobe practically the entire season, trying to repair his image, trying to jam down the fans' throats that he is a good guy and family man.... and then he gets OWNED in the NBA Finals...by the Celtics. LOL

I love it! ;D

I must say, bit of bloody well alright, and a tip o the hat to ya too!

Why must these said "jocks" display emotion in public, at all. Why, I can remember when men were rightly stoic, reserved and dignified when expounding upon interogitories with the subject matter at hand while responding with prevetted talking points and I for one, am comfortable with that ;)  :D
