Ok, mind you the $ don't add up.  These guys are basically unobtainable to us.  So this is not a trade idea.  Nor is it a suggestion to management to pursue these guys.  But I just want to get a good idea of what you guys think is a good "fit", in terms of skill set, attitude, knowledge, and physical abilities.  Which of the following SF do you think will be the best fit for this team?  To make it easier, let's say that we don't have James Posey anymore.  And Paul Pierce and Ray Allen really do not care whether they start or come off the bench (yeah, far-fetch scenario!).  And the guys on the list are willing to come off the bench if necessary, or start if necessary.

1)  Andrei Kirilenko
2)  Ron Artest
3)  Richard Jefferson
4)  Mike Miller

Thanks

James Posey.

unlike the rest of these guys, he has shown he can come off the bench, play around 20 minutes, be productive and not complain.

These 4 are starters/35 minute a game type players.  There is a big question if any of them would be happy with the limited playing time they would get with the Celtics.

I count 7 hypotheticals in this questions.  I think it's a record.

Agree with S Shore fan 2.0 but also agtree with the original list.  Artest is a better player than Kirilenko, but not by much, and you always worry about the bipolar Artest in your locker room (although he seems to have calmed down in Sacramento-- probably because he's taking his meds).

If Artest is even spotted anywhere near the Garden, alert the Staties and make sure none of our players are within 100 yards of him as to not be contaminated by the most malignant cancer any league has ever known (coming in close 2nd, Vick & Pacman "Adam" Jones)

The guy can certainly play, but anyone who heard him on ESPN radio 2 days ago would know not to get near him.  This guys still vehemently puts himself as a top 10 NBA player.

My Vote, spend it on Posey & House, spend what's left on keeping our coaching staff intact, and then repeat the way teams have always done, with the core remaining.  Guys, this was just 1 season together, even with age, imagine what another year and this confidence could do?  Do you really think the rest of the league will figure out Tib's D over the offseason?  I don't.

i don't think any of those guys fit. If I were forced to choose one, and didn't have to worry about the $$, I'd grab AK47. He could be a terror in the C's defensive system.

AK 47 is very pouty, and his coach has questioned his commitment.  He becomes very ineffective when not an integral part of the offense.

Artest is the most skilled player, but also the most volatile.  He'd be too big of a risk, although skills wise, he'd be a very good fit.

To me, that leaves Miller and Jefferson.  Of those two, I think Miller is the better player.  He stretches the floor, which is important to our team.  He also shoots a significantly higher percentage than Jefferson (despite shooting a lot of threes), he gets substantially more rebounds, and more assists.

You don't mention him, but Matt Barnes... if not Mike Miller would be on the top of my list, followed by Ron Artest.

I hate Kirilenko and Jefferson is a bum I wouldn't want for free.

Assuming your premises, probably Mike Miller coming off the bench and playing with the 2nd unit. AK47 is probably the best player among the four, but I can't see how he'd fit in our team in the offensive side... he is better suited to play as a PF in a running team. Artest is much of a head-case and he'd demand lots of shots and Jefferson is not as good as any of the others.

AK47 is a very good player and in the C's defense he'd be a monster... but there is no way the $ works without the C's giving away assets...
Now, on to 18...
