Thanks, but no thanks. Actually, there´s no need to thank anyone.

Anyone heard how Artest called Garnett a sissy on several occassions during the finals?

 >:(
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Could someone please PM me when Artest is finally reigned in somewhere?  The guy is a lunatic.

If Posey goes, despite a big offer from the Cs,and Artest can be had, I would think that Ainge and ownership will have to consider it, but there' s very high likelihood that Artest will go off the reservation, like he has EVERY single place where he's played before.

A non-psycho Artest who buys in to everything the Cs are doing and sacrifices his game for the good of the team makes the 2009 Celtics potentially one of the best half dozen teams in NBA history.  But those are big "ifs."  Danny would be wise to play the pat hand with Posey.
Artest is less crazy than Rodman and the Bulls were able to reign him in to the tune of several NBA titles. Just sayin.

That's debatable.  IIRC, Rodman has a couple of years of craziness in San Antonio (although his teams won 55 and 62 games) after seven solid seasons in Detroit. Plus, Rodman had two titles under his belt, and a history of being a role player on a talent laden squad. Artest hasn't done squat as far as winning in the NBA, and has a history of being a cancer in every one of his NBA homes.

I thought he called him a puppy.  Could be wrong.

Say no to Artest!  Like I said before, just pay Posey.

Garnett inspires a lot of jealousy... Just like Larry Bird did...

btw - will Vecsey ever retract his "counterfeit ticket" piece?
Now, on to 18...

Artest is headache player. I'd rather to have Kobe than Artest and I DO HATE Bryant.

NF.
Wow. Not me. Kobe is one of a handful of players I wouldn't take under any circumstances - and it's not because I dislike him or the Lakers. Kobe is a cancer - Artest is just a loose cannon. Loose cannons can be reigned in - cancers just spread. Besides Artest fits a need. Kobe doesn't - we already have Pierce (whom I'd much rather have than Kobe).

I was being sarcastic about taking KB. :D   Artest would bring troubles to this team and I think nobody wants that. ;)

#18 is coming...

If we cannot resign Posey, the guys I would go after are:

Barnes or Pietrus from Golden State
James Jones from Portland (he was supposedly the leader of that team)
Josh Childress
Jarvis Hayes
Eduardo Najera

Artest isn't going to be happy in a situation where he's not a featured part of the offense. The guy's a time bomb.

We don't need to bother to say no to Artest.

He's not taking a 25% pay-cut to play for a team coming from the bench and not having many offensive touches.

Couple of points:

- if Max brought this up on the Big Show, I knew nothing of it, this was an original idea.

- I don't think there is even a remote possiblity of this happening because Artest has never come off to me as someone who is willing to sacrifice his paycheck for jewelry. He has always seemed the type that measured how good of a basketball player one was by how much you got paid. So for Artest to opt out of $8.5 million to take only $5 Million doesn't seem possible.

- I think if the Celtics can't retain Posey Ainge will look to maximize the value of the MLE by bringing in players with talent that are willing to take less for the chance at a ring.

- I think Barnes, Biedrins, Wells, Roger Mason, Kenyon Dooling and Kurt Thomas are the areas I would be looking for in the FA market if Posey is gone.

- But the idea of Artest on the Celtics with Pierce, Allen and Garnett reigning him in and making him a team player is quite intriguing and it would probably put the Celtics into a 2-3 year era of being the frontrunners for championship every year. Also a 5 year Artest deal with a straightened out Artest goes a long way towards extending the era beyond Ray Allen.

- just thoughts but as I said, quite an intriguing idea, even if it is extremely unlikely.

No. Never. If they did I wouldn't watch them until he was gone. I could watch a team of bad players who try like last season. But I could never watch a team with a thug like that one on it.

Fisher, Kobe, Artest, Pau, Bynum. I dont think 29 teams in the NBA can afford to let that happen.

I can see Artest taking a 3 million dollar paycut for a ring. Rodman got it done with the Bulls so theres no reason Artest couldn't with the Lakers. Artest could be a poor mans Scottie Pippen in the same offense as Pip and MJ. Imagine that with two talented big men up front and a vet PG? Thats scary.

Dennis Rodman was 35 years old when he joined the Bulls, Artest is 29 years old and he can make big money next year. Besides, a 3 million paycut is like a third of his current salary. Artest will never play for the MLE at this point of his career.

The only place in Boston where Ron Artest belongs is the McLean Hospital.

And no, I don't think he'll become another Marianne Faithful or Sylvia Plath.
