Speaking about the lack 'team' with the lakers, did anyone else laugh when Turiaf went to the floor, put his hands up to get pulled up, and not a single Laker helped him.  They all turned their backs and walked away.

Even Turiaf laughed.

yeah i did see that, wow.  i felt kind of bad for him because i feel like hes the only team-oriented guy on the lakers, and they shut him down hard

Sasha probably grew up watching football, sorry soccer. The Italians invented and perfected it, but nowadays all pro's tend to just fall down unexplainably, add a ton of drama-pain and try and get a yellow card or even better a ejection for his direct opponent. Seems to be common practice these days at the European Championship. Hate that stuff. In the old days on the football/soccerpitch someone like him would've been kicked into the bleachers at the first hint of method-acting.

I also noticed that.  They need to learn a little "umbundo" (sp?)

It will be interesting to see how the new "flopping" rule will be applied next year.

Sasha drew an ejection against Melo earlier this year by over-dramatizing a hand to the throat (it was certainly a foul, but not a Flagrant 2).  He proceeded to laugh about it with Kobe and VladRad on the bench.
God bless and good night!

Vujacic has a lot of potential.  I suspect he just might be this generation's version of Danny Ainge.  But yeah, the Lakers as a team have a tendency to be quick about expressing their displeasure and their outrage when things aren't going their way.  Just like we do here at celticsblog.  We do complain a lot here at the blog (but no one really listens to us, anyway), but thankfully the Celtics players and Coach generally have been dignified about the series.

Vujacic gets called for a lot of fouls because he's very aggressive on defense.  It's a two-way street.  If you're gonna pressure the ball constantly, and sometimes there's really no need to, then expect to get called for slapping and bumping the other guy.

In any case, he might have a point about those moving screens that Garnett was using.  They could have easily been called as such.  Both teams got away with violations during the series.  But then again, a lot of calls that should not have happened did.

as soon as gasol gets called for one of his constant over the backs, then im ok with a moving screen call.

until then, shut up and play.

I loved it when the refs ignored his flop on the jump ball call with Sam.

The real question is will his salary cover the fines he gets next year?

I absolutely loved this part of the article:

Quote
"When we go back to Boston...... we got to stay smart, stay focused, and play with poise."

How are the Lakers going to play with poise when they can't conduct themselves with poise in their own crib for two straight second halves and after every game with the press?

Poise is not a trait that just appears overnight.

LA Daily News: Outside of Los Angeles, Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic isn't exactly an endearing figure. During the Lakers' playoff run, he's alternated between being a defensive pest and a clutch long-distance shooter, with a knack for breaking opposing teams' hearts.

But on Sunday night in the Lakers 103-98 Game 5 victory over the Celtics, something, or someone managed to get under his normally impenetratble skin.

"Phil (Jackson) told me after the game that he thought I was a bit emotional. And I think he was right, I didn't manage it right," Vujacic said. "It all started from that poke in the eye (by Celtics guard Sam Cassell). I got a little bit mad because the ref was right there and he didn't call it."

That's not all. Later in the game, Cassell seemed to slam Vujacic down onto the court while they wrestled for a loose ball, and Vujacic said afterwards that he thought it was on purpose.

"That's OK, it doesn't matter, because we know that's the way they play and hopefully next time (the officials will) see it and I'll get the call," he said.

Vujacic hasn't been pleased with some of the things he thinks Boston is getting away with in this series, either.

"They (Boston) foul a lot. They get away with a lot of fouls," Vujacic said. "When we go back to Boston, we know that they are going do a lot of moving picks like they do, and they're probably going to get away with it. But we got to stay smart, stay focused and play with poise.

"It's hard to see. It's not easy to call those. They're doing it so quick that not everybody can see it. You can't blame anyone.

Anyone else sick & tired of these sissyfied Lakers moaning to the media every two seconds. If anyone it should be the Celtics with the refs not calling Radman "5 step" walk in game 3 and the Kobe "reach-in" foul in game 5. I thank the Celtics for taking the high road, which is why I'm proud to be a Celtic.

C's please expose the lakers tonight
