Sasha is just following the lead of Phil and Kobe.  Those two know if they whine about the fouls enough, they will get extra cals the next game.  It has worked in the past for them.  Sasha is a good player and great hustle guy, but he is way too soft to be effective.  Another thing I find funny is he plays in your face defense (he is all over the man he guards), but cries when someone else does it to him.  He is used to teams doubling other players and leaving him open to shoot the 3-pointer.

yep.  this is less about sasha being a wuss and more about the lakers looking an advantage with the refs.
Celtics fan for life.

Lucky for the Lakers they didn't have to see Detroit....or cleveland, they would have been so physically beaten down each game, with detroit, it would look more like rugby, or MUG-BE, that kid would have been out early...! They would have sold gasol out in the detroit streets for small change......They are lucky the Celts play basketball even though the refs do not really like our style. The do not cater to any of our stars. Will PP ever get that respect...? Will the refs ever call a game straight from top to bottom, rookie to star...? That IS actually their only purpose.

Hell, this crap started with Valde Divac (however the hell you spelt his name) and the central Europeans are continuing the tradition.  You’d think for guys that grew up in war-torn countries that they’d have a little more steel in them.  I understand the futbol/soccer comparisons but [dang].

The Lakers have been trying to work the referees all series.  Phil Jackson did it after game 2, Kobe did it after game 4, now Vujacic after game 5.  I guess the Lakers feel entitled to get all the calls and the advantageous non-calls-- you know, like the foul at the end of game 5 (when they stripped Pierce) that wasn't whistled.

You'll see the begging, moaning, dirty glances at the officials and soccer flops from the opening tap tonight to the final whistle.  They know they're not good enough to win without help.

Vuja-chick has the haircut, build, lack of jumping ability and athleticism, and sweet jumper to thrive in the League for a long time -- the WNBA.

I take it back.  The women in that league play rough too.

Vujacic has a lot of potential.  I suspect he just might be this generation's version of Danny Ainge.  But yeah, the Lakers as a team have a tendency to be quick about expressing their displeasure and their outrage when things aren't going their way.  Just like we do here at celticsblog.  We do complain a lot here at the blog (but no one really listens to us, anyway), but thankfully the Celtics players and Coach generally have been dignified about the series.

Vujacic gets called for a lot of fouls because he's very aggressive on defense.  It's a two-way street.  If you're gonna pressure the ball constantly, and sometimes there's really no need to, then expect to get called for slapping and bumping the other guy.

In any case, he might have a point about those moving screens that Garnett was using.  They could have easily been called as such.  Both teams got away with violations during the series.  But then again, a lot of calls that should not have happened did.

I don't know much about Ainge's career specifically, but it just feels wrong to compare the two. I'm assuming other people wouldn't feel it's a fair assessment?

Also, I'm not sure why you compared the Lakers complaining to the media about the officials/celtics style, to community members on Celtics Blog complaining in forums, again this seems like a stretch to make this comparison. Tho I do agree that the Celtics players/staff have remained much more level-headed in regards to blaming outside variables on poor play, which I think was your main point there.

If Vujacic wants to spend his time worrying about the "moving screens" (I mean is this not like 3 seconds, palming, and illegal defense, something that could be called so much more often than it is against every team) Garnett is setting and not the 15 some odd shots he missed over that 2 game span, good, he's taking his own head out of the game.

(update: as two other posters says, the triangle instigates many moving picks, and pau gasol goes over the back/pushes off alot for rebounds, we don't see E. House[ or any other role player for boston similar to vujacic] being interviewed focusing on those things)

Vujacic, like all Euro players are soft.

So this type of behavior(being a pansy) is nothing new.

Maybe they can design a new Lakers uniform that incorporates a skirt? That'd be more fitting.

I think his real problem with Cassell was that Sam almost broke his barette.

I knew Vujacic should try tennis instead of the NBA. Maybe he can get a gig as a doubles partner with Nadel at Wimbledon starting in two weeks.
