Yes, if for no other reason than it draws some personal fouls away from KG.  I think that Perk's presence would at least have drawn one of KG's fouls his way.  I also think that Perk's presence in the paint would help KG's play in the interior.

Yes I think it would have been. Leon didn't play well when starting and that hurt the side. Then with PJ starting the third quarter the rotations got pulled too far out of whack and Doc had hardly any option for far too long a period but to play small ball. That hurt.

The Celtics never had their phyiscal dominance in the paint tonight which has been a constant in the first four games of the series. At times Lamar Odom took over the paint.

I don't think KG's sitting most of the 2nd quarter if Perk is playing.

Yes.

He pushes Gasol around (KG and PJ don't)

He battles on the boards.

One of the biggest issues tonight was when the Celtics went small, they didn't get the offensive punch from Posey.  The defense was good, but with out the offense, the rebounding issues hurts the Celtics defense.

It makes a difference because with Perk KG does'nt have to start off on Pau. We need 10-15 minutes from Perk. Hopefully he plays through the pain. He can get surgery in the off season.

Yea, i take back what i say about our lineup being flawed with Perk. We need him to push Pau around.

I don't think KG's sitting most of the 2nd quarter if Perk is playing.

Bingo.

As EJPLAYA would tell you, I am not a Perkins fan.  Yes, I realize that his game isn't supposed to be glitz or glamour, but his relatively low lack of progress in a 5 year span, complete dearth of an offensive game, frequent mental lapses, and his unwarranted "I deserve more respect this" incredulous reactions have really grown negatively unto me.

That said, what Kendrick Perkins CAN do is bang down low defensively and not get moved off the block.  He's much stronger than KG down low and can absorb and deliver much more physical impact (just ask Paul Pierce).

He's got 6, good hard fouls to use per 48, and to his credit, has learned to do a good job distributing them.  Not only that, because KG had to draw the primary big-man assignment of Gasol tonight, more often than not Kevin was caught (over) compensating for his lack of strength by committing the foul.
God bless and good night!

Perk is a huge loss. There was a huge difference out there without him on both ends of the court.
