His inability to step up in big games is really getting old.

He stunk it up big time. Poor fouls. Terrible free throw shooting. And a missed tip in.

Pretty much saw this thread coming.

You just can't brick three free throws in the fourth quarter.  You just can't.  Decidedly un-clutch play by KG.  I normally don't buy into all the anti-KG stuff, but for this one game, it's well-deserved.

TP for you, i wanted to start this thread but you beat me too it.
1-4 ft, 2 when we were down by 2 pts
terrible fouls on garnett, especially that aggressive reach in early on.
Kg just simply choked this one away and you cant take advantage of an epic performance by pierce, just an unacceptable performance from KG, i am flat out disgusted with it.

yea, i don't buy his overall rep either

(just this series i can point to games one and four as examples, in both games he came up huge in the fourth)

but, for this one game, totally agree roy, can't brink free throws. just cant.

Don't forget about the numerous missed tip-ins and the defensive rebounds he couldn't bring down.

The thing about tonight: He didn't even have to take over. He was rarely asked to go one-on-one on an isolation (even though we should be allowed to ask him to do that). All he had to do was take advantage of the opportunities given to him (ie. Hit your free throws, putbacks, not letting Gasol burn you). Simply horrible performance tonight.

The fouls I can take.  Its the aggressive way he has played all year and that is why we are here.

As soon as he had those 2 FT I was nervous.  I was trying pumping him up from my living room yelling "Who's not clutch?  Prove them wrong KG. etc" but he missed... both.  I just think when you are alone on the foul line you have to much time to think.

KG has been chocking offensively all series, and on D Gasol is scoring easily on him, what's his problem?

KG will play better with the home crowd juicing his batteries. I'm not worried.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

This definitely was not his best game. He needs to make the free throws. I can't understand why a 7-foot player doesn't dunk a tip in when he has the opportunity. They should spend a day in my 5'6" body and they would dunk every time!!!

In his defense, at least two of those fouls were ridiculous calls. As a homer, I would even say three were absolutely terrible calls.

Hard for Gasol to score easily on him when he's on the bench in foul trouble.  Also hard to play aggressive D when you are worried about fouling out.

I'm usually KG's biggest defender but I can't excuse the missed free throws.  Can't miss those down the stretch there . . . the beautiful thing is he has a chance to redeem himself Tuesday.

KG really killed us, he makes those freethrows and tip in, and we dont have to put them on freethrow line.
i really felt like we had this game.

KG definitely disappointed me tonight. Whenever Marshmallow Man performs better than you, you know you have a bad night. Those free throws were horrible, but letting Mr. Softie dominate you on the boards in critical situations and score on you, that is inexcusable.

I expect nothing less than a big performance from KG next game. I am sure he will be extra juiced before the game as well. We should win this on Tuesday and should play that game like a do or die. Celtics in a blowout by 23.

Go Celtics..Win on Tuesday!
