I don't dislike Garnett.  Everyone knows he's not a clutch player, which is why the Celtics never go to him at the end of the games.  I don't expect him to take control of the game or anything.

But his 4th quarter tonight was not even mediocre.  He had 2 point-blank putbacks that he missed, his defense and rebounding were awful, and he missed those 2 free throws.  I think the C's would have had a better chance if Leon or PJ Brown played instead of Garnett down the stretch.  Garnett was a net negative tonight.

This is the 2nd time in this series where he could have played just a little bit better and the Cs would have won.  Game 3 was the other. :-\

He was also the one who hit an absolutely butter jump shot to tie the game 90-90, and who grabbed some crucial rebounds as only KG can.

Give him a break
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

No way anyone in their right mind plays PJ or Leon at the end of this game ahead of Garnett. Let's not go overboard. KG is the only rebounder on the floor when we go small. Posey can only try to keep Odom off the glass, but he can't jump while he is getting pushed under the hoop all night.

Anyone else irritated that the refs don't call more over the back or pushing fouls on rebounds. That is the only way the Lakers ever get an offensive rebound.

TP. Look, yes, those FT's were huge. But we aren't there without him. He hit the boards and played strong D. I can't put this solely on the missed FT's and can't dismiss the other the things he did do. The quickness with which some fans flip and turn on the people who got use here can annoy this guy a bit.

He doesn't deserve a break for shooting 25% from the FT line in the fourth quarter. He hasn't been what we needed him to be since the first half of game one. His defense has been there, but he's Kevin Garnett for crying out loud. We need him to make shots and he's not doing that and he's making bad decisions.

Ubuntu!  This team wins as a team and loses as a team.  No need to make any scapegoats.  We lost a tough game to a desperate team, and showed some serious brass ones coming back from 2 large deficits.

It's time for the crowd go nuts and help the C's win this one in Boston!

KG will play better with the home crowd juicing his batteries. I'm not worried.

He sucked in Boston, too. = /

what? he had off shooting nights but he devastated odom and gasol on defense in boston.

Also, i believe he hit a pretty clutch shot to make it 90-90.

the FT's tonight were inexcusable, but he sealed game one with a put back and awesome defense, and he played a good game 2 offensively, and a great game defensivly, how exactly did he suck in boston? ???

Exactly. 2 large deficits. If the C's don't dig themselves in holes it would have been helpful and maybe there would be a victory. There are more then one reason in  every game why a team loses.

Paul Pierce is the best player on this team.

I still think the Celtics are winning this series, but 2 troubling themes have emerged.

One is Garnett's inability to outgrow his tentativeness in big games.  If he was ever going to outgrow it, he would have done so by now.

The other is Rondo's apparent lack of any cojones whatsoever.  This is actually more disappointing to me, because I stupidly thought that Rajon would emerge as the Celtics' best clutch player.  Instead, he's shown that he's scared to drive to the basket, and when he does get to the rim he's scared to shoot wide open layups.  It's very discouraging.

He missed his help on defense.  (Perkins)

Offensively, he didn't get enough touches low against Gasol.  Gasol didn't have to work much defensively.  It was there.

He needs to hit his FTs.

KG didn't lose this game for the Celtics.  But he didn't help them win.

I think its a little unfair to say that KG choked the game away but he's not helping his case with all of his critics who say he doesn't show up in the 4th quarter or in big games.

How many times do you think Skip Bayless is gonna say "Kevin Garnot" tomorrow on first take?  I'm gonna put the over/under at 4.

KG needs to not get in foul trouble and he needs to take the initiative offensively.  Defensely, mostly no complaints.
