I'm not gonna whine about the refS, but Bavetta is terrible. He's gotta be next to legally blind.

I would definately agree...... no wonder he's under investigavtion by the league....

Other than that, Pierce looks determined to finish it off tonight..... he is possessed.  I think if the Celtics were down 100, he'd be determined to win it, showing again that he is our go to guy.

Couple of thoughts:

Again, when we move the basketball, we're pretty good offensively. Cassell did an excellent job running the offense in the second quarter. Excellent job. Tony Allen - and everyone knows by now that I don't want him back - did a fine job on Bryant and his offensive, uh, exuberance didn't hurt us.

Thought we could have had the lead if we'd kept attacking the rim in the second quarter with them in the penalty. Defensively the second quarter was much, much better after another horrific defensive first quarter.

Probably do have to give Powe some burn to rebound, but it should get better if that crook Kenny Mauer will let Garnett play.

As for Bavetta, he does pretty well for an employed cadaver. Geez, what crypt does that incompetent old fossil live in?

Bill Walton cracks me up...  in small doses.

Kobe: "uhhhh.... nuttin' really"

Lakers emotions are all over the place and it's playing havoc with their performance

There's no way they win this game if they don't calm down.

Ahh, the beauty of an experienced vet team...
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

please, no hating on tony right now, he played great in the 2nd quarter.

on a different note, it looks like Phil Jackson's strategy tonight is: throw the kitchen sink at the Celtics (Chris Mihm?  what, did he think Doc would counter with Scalabrine?)

If Doc starts Powe and Rondo in the second half, I'm going to lose my new found respect for the guy.

this is a tough one, I think Rondo starts, Powe doesn't - in some ways its about more than just the game, and not going with Rondo now could shatter his confidence in the future - give him a few minutes see what he can do, tell him to be aggressive (he did draw that foul on Kobe), then bring in the backups - Powe I wouldn't worry about as much, start PJ, and use Powe as the energy guy off the bench

on the half - what a weird one! somewhat familiar, though giving the Lakers halftime to adjust and calm down could be problematic, their confidence must be so shattered at this point.  If the celtics can get a 10 point lead by the end of the 3rd its over imo...if the c's keep it tied or close, we're in for a long night

note to everyone, don't go to bed now!

Thoughts on the first half:

Started off slow again.
Three very cheap calls on KG. PJ is going to be dead tired at the end of the game.
Pierce is killing them with those drives. 21 points at halftime. He also hasn't sat down yet.
TA is actually playing pretty well. He did miss a few easy ones, and he still can't dribble, but oh well.
Solid first half from Ray Ray.
Rondo was invisible.
Powe did nothing.
PJ is being very physical on Pau.
I like where we are at this point.
Kobe didn't score in the second quarter.

Another tortise & hare tale. Rabit runs, steady rollin tortise comes on.
Didnt hurt the Lakes stopped trapping& sat Kobe(Walton), but credit the Cs for clamping down D and picking em apart with Pierce and Tony, clearing space for the shooters.

I like KG and all  but when he's in and we go to him in the post play after play our offense doesn't look very good, turnover after turnover. I say keep the paint free for Pierce and Ray to operate and send KG to crash the boards

I'm loving the 1/2 time diatrabe by Bill Walton.......

This is a priceless pontification of epic proportions of the Lakers imminent demise.

Where is the passion, the energy, and the emotion? It is with the Celtics and I fully expect Bill Walton to rip off his shirt and tie to reveal the #5 Celtics Jersey.

Can't start Rondo. Can't play four on five on the offensive end for long.

Frankly, what I've seen in the past two games gives me pause for next season at the PG position. It's going to be ESSENTIAL to have a scorer behind Rondo, or he's going to have to upgrade his offensive game significantly. He's killing us on the offensive end right now.
