I've rarely taken as much joy while reading about basketball as I just did while reading the "Garnett and McHale in their Rightful Places" section of this article.  The "Changing Reputations" part is a slam dunk as well.

I know KG's been playing like poopy for much of the finals, but Britt (and myself) have been watching him for so long that it's hard to not still talk him up... and also easy to overlook his poor shooting in favor of the laundry list of positives he's been bringing to the court in the playoffs, including the finals.

Enjoy the read!

Im probably one of few who thinks KG has played a good defensive game most of this series, and a ok offensive game.He hasn't had impressive numbers scoring wise, but his rebounding has been consistently in double figures throughout the playoffs. We are so use to seeing KG having a good to great all around game, that when he is a little low on scoring,it feels like he is not playing well.I think he has been very good on the defensive end, when it really counted.Offensively,he gave us a lift  here/there in game 4,not outstanding numbers but average to good. Most players would take 16pts,11 to 12 boards anyday.I look at it this way,if it wasn't for KG,playing consistently good throughout each series of the playoffs,we might not of reached the finals. He is entitled in my book to slack off some, without being crticized.I do hope,he has a monster game 5 offensively, defensively to put this thing to rest, alone with Paul,Ray,and cast.

I don't read Britt Robson often but I do check his stuff out every now and again and I find him to be quite inconsistent. Some of his work is magical and other's are thoroughly mediocre. I'm not sure what to make of him.

Do you have any examples?  I don't know if I've ever really read something of his that I openly disagreed with.

No I don't have any. There was a couple over the course of this season which I didn't really like.

Fair enough, I don't think anyone can write consistent columns that please everyone, all the time.  I'm sure there'd be some stuff I'd question if I went back through it, but for the most part, I think he's about as good as it gets.

I will say this ... When he's on his game his work is excellent and a joy to read

I agree with WHO. He sometimes writes interesting stuff (as the best connected NBA-Analyst in Minnesota). And sometimes, he writes stuff I consider somewhat meandering (since he is the best connected NBA analyst in Minnesota).

Still editing the Babble at nearly 4 am...so I probably won't get to the link tonight, but I just wanted to thank Big Ticket for posting it and getting some Robson love up on the site.  I absolutely love Britt's work, and your post reminded me of what a shame the old "only 24 hours in a day" syndrome is, as I really don't get to read his work as often as I'd like.  What I have read, I've been thrilled with, and he'll become a much bigger priority for me this offseason.  I'll definitely check out the link.  Thanks for posting, BT.

I think his work is outstanding. I check to see if he has a column every day. The responses he gets I think are the best I've seen on the net.

If anyone followed the link and read the comments, you'll see that I obviously enjoy Britt's site.  And the ability to comment/discuss with both Britt and the other readers is a huge plus.  IMO, Britt's main strength as a writer is that he combines some of the best aspects of journalism, blogging, and statistical analysis to give some interesting, insightful takes.  That is a combo that I rarely find matched in basketball coverage.
