Just raising a question to see who you guys have aquired respect for from the lakers team during this series??

If we could aquire anyone of course we would say kobe but other than that who would you say?

I say even though he got beat last night one a crucial one on one, sasha vujacic has gained some respect from me. The guy doesn't play out of control, can shoot if kobe passed to him more, plays hard and has some talent.

Gasol has been really disappointing that i can kind of see why chris wallace traded his soft azz away.(and got the best he could with how much he had to paid) He lacks the certain fire to carry his team through tough moments

Also lamar odom is truly the biggest inconsistant player in the league. I would never want a guy like that who likes to disappear during parts of the game

he annoys the hell out of me, but I'd like to have Vujacic coming off the bench.

The guy can hit open shots, is a nagging defender (if you ignore his "olay Ray Ray!" at the end of game 4.

He's the type of player to love him if he's with you but hate him if he's on the other side.

Ditto.
Of course I would also love Bynum.
Others that I like are Turiaf and Farmar.
Pass on Kobe, Gasol, L.O., Vlad.
Celtics fan for life.

I wouldn't want Kobe in a million years. I don't care if he were handed to us on a platter (like Gasol was for LA).

There are certain players you just don't want at any cost. In the early days of Celticsblog, I fought long and hard with my "Just say NO to Stevie Franchise" comments when people were clamoring for him to come to Boston. Same with Starbury (finally, everyone came around and realized that you wouldn't want these guys).  TMac is another one - by all accounts, a really nice guy and probably a friendly teammate, but not an Ubuntu-type player on the court.

Kobe is the absolute antithesis of Ubuntu. In fact, the term "Ubuntu-type player" or simply "Ubuntu player" should be added to the official basketball dictionary. And then the term "Kobe-type player" should be added as an antonym to that dictionary entry.

Example: "James Posey is one of those Ubuntu guys that every team needs to win a championship." "Stephon Marbury is one of those Kobe-type players that kills a team's chemistry on and off the court."

Turiaf and Sasha stink. You guys are insane. Sasha is the second coming of Jiri Welsch. Turiaf flat out wouldn't make our team. BBD > Turiaf.

I'd take Odom. PP and the crew could fix his attitude issues and he has talent especially as a bench player.. Also getting away from Kobe might help. Also you have to take Bynum and Farmar for talent and upside.

Somebody asked yesterday in one of the ESPN chats whether a free agent this coming year would rather sign with Boston or LA. I can't remember who was chatting at the time (some guy named Kumla? maybe it was Will Perdue), anyhow, his response was that the free agents should choose Boston because LA's bench was already stacked. In other words, he was basically saying that LA's bench was better and that Boston's bench needed more help. LA's bench may have some talent, but our bench has a little talent too, along with some championship heart.

In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Depending upon their role and salary, I'd take Gasol, Odom, Fisher, Bynum, Farmar, and Ariza.

Haven't seen much of him, but Ariza looks like a player who is going to get better.

Turiaf, Mihm and Newble.

I think Phil Jackson made a mistake not playing Ira Newble in this series. He defends Pierce better than anyone they got. He's the only guy with the defensive ability and physical size to compete. Newble can make open shots too.
