Pierce all the way.

Box scores don't determine MVPs, and I don't think it makes much sense to consider a losing game in some one's bid for an award.

In the three wins that the Celtics have had, Pierce has been the best player on the floor in everyone of them. Most importantly, he set the tone for the rest of the team in terms of aggressiveness.

i think when you look at the term "most valuable" and look at their numbers and the win-loss besides them, it would be paul.. ray has been consistent.. but when paul was off the celts lost.. in that case he was the "most valuable" for me

IMO, Ray Allen was clearly the best player in game 4.

Pierce will also get credit for playing through that knee injury.

I don't care who gets it, as long as it's not Kobe "MJ" Bryant.

this is my wall paper from now on... and on...and on

edgar, that is my favourite ever wallpaper. thankyou - tp!

where did you find it?

it's on nba.com/celtics under the wallpapers section

That's a really cool wallpaper.  Does it look like the players are a little out of proportion though?  We've learned that McHale was actually over 7 feet tall in socks (they noticed he was significantly taller than Al Jefferson and questioned whether or not Al was actually shorter than 6-10, but McHale responded that back in his day they had no reason to list how tall they actually were and he was actually like 7 feet in socks)...   and yet in that pic, Pierce looks like he's a lot bigger.  Looks like they may have got it a little off.  Still very cool.

They should change the text to read "The Big 6".

I don't want to be a "debbie-downer" around here.

But this series is far from over.

I understand the Celtics have put themselves in a GREAT position to win this and the likelihood of them pulling this off is looking large at this moment we must not be handing out MVP trophies just yet.

Sorry if I sound as though I'm "not enjoying the ride", I am, but stranger things have happened.

I feel the same way. Just to reiterate what I stated above, I am so excited and I believe everyone else should be excited as well- there is nothing wrong with this. I just feel handing out the MVP trophy is premature especially with an opponent as prolific as Kobe Bryant.

I feel like if this series extends until Tuesday night we will have the same negative sentiments and press (Dan Shaunessey [sp?] anyone?) we experienced after game 3.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves!

well,I think that both Allen and Pierce deserve it but i would say Pierce because when he steps up, the C's win!! Allen had an unbelievable Game 3 but finally we lost...after all,it's the wins that lead to Championships, that's the truth and that's why Lebron didn't deserve the MVP title this year!! To me, Allen has been our best player in the Finals, but MVP = Most VALUABLE Player, I think Pierce was slightly more valuable overall!! Just an opinion,though...
"Life has so many hurdles. Some of them I've hopped over, some of them I've tripped over. The key is to get back up and finish the race."- Paul Pierce

And he did finish...

No way he wins MVP if his team doesn't win at least 3 games. Kobe hasn't even dominated enough statistically. No way Kobe wins finals MVP.
