I'm going to knock his teeth out. Can you at least try to show some objectivity. Our team is playing like crap and we have to listen to your unprofessional homerism and make it worse. They might as well have Magic call the game.

Is there any doubt after this game who he wanted to win? every defensive play it was "they might have gotten away with one" seriously>:(

Of all the things i just witnessed in this game three loss, the thing i can least stand are these three babbling idiots.
First of all i don't think any of them realize there is a game going on.
Second it seems to me at least as if they love the lakers and hate the celtics...for instance when ever a laker was fouled and not called they mentioned it but when pierce was hammered by vujacic and no call they just talked about the broken 3 on 2 fast break
Third its just horrible coverage in general...Every single highlight reel before the timeouts were of the lakers except for maybe 2 or 3...and personally its great to see Rondo coming out of the locker room but i dont have to see it happeneing id rather watch the game.

And I think they all love kobe bryant a little too much...its just disgusting

So the one thing that can't get better after tonights loss is my headache from these announcers...cause i know i'm going to be listening to the exact same thing on thursday!

Anyone else share these thoughts or have any of their own?

The announcers didn't irritate me tonight. They have been in the previous two. It's very hard to listen to them in so many consecutive games, especially important games. They need to mix it up a bit with some different players. Just a small break, freshen things up.

I thought Jeff Van Gundy was pretty funny tonight. Breen did his normal show sleep walking through the game. Mark Jackson was awful but thank the love of the basketball gods for at least stopping the "If I was a coach" comments ... you can tell he has no more job opportunities. Seriously it's been the Mark Jackson Head Coach showcase broadcasting convention this postseason.

I thought the coverage in general has been really poor. Quite a few missed possessions, or partially missed, all the time between court time is wasted on nonsense. It just lowers the entire atmosphere of the Finals. It's really getting me down.

Sometimes I find myself getting mad at them too, but I try to remind myself that they are mostly there for entertainment.  Half the time when I want them to be analyzing something or other, they are goofing around about such things as getting a haircut.  But there is really no reason to take out your frustration on them.  If all else fails, don't forget about the mute button.

I felt like there was salt being sanded into my eyes the whole time. If your going to be an announcer and a good one at that, you have to be unbiased. This clearly wasn't the case tonight.

Part of it is the last two days game two was said to be given to us by the refs and that was maddening. With this guys articulation tonight coupled with a poor game played, it onlt compounds it.

I think Jackson and Van Gundy are good. Breen? He's just so so but I don't get the anti-Boston vibe that others do. We're just so used to Heinsohn! The biggest problem is one that a lot of modern announcers have, they allow their rants and rhetoric to overshadow the game. And we don't get replays as much as a solid broadcast would give you, especially when there is a questionable call, they just follow the whining players with the camera while the announcers talk about something irrelevant...
Now, on to 18...

As the designated Breen apologist on site, I love these guys and wasn't remotely bothered by the announcers tonight.

JVG is one of the best analysts in the game today -- and certainly the best national commentator in that regard.  He's a pleasure to listen to.

Jax -- for better or worse as an analyst -- has a great rapport with him and Breen, and the chemistry between them is a lot of fun.  I found the "pop culture"-hating on JVG to be one of many entertaining moments of lightness with them.

Breen's still my favorite play-by-play man in the game, although I don't think he's been at his best as of late.

As for Kobe, I'm not sure what they were supposed to do that they didn't.  The man played a great game -- and that includes a disaster job at the foul line.  He did everything right down the stretch.  I can't kill the announcers for praising him.  I'd have wanted them to do the same if Pierce played the way he did, and that's what I believe they would have done.

I'm as peeved as the rest of the panel after this loss.  But if there's two groups who aren't sources of my irritation, it's the announcers and the officials.  We got about what I expected from both of them.  Actually, probably better than expected from the officials, and a usual solid job from the broadcasters.

I watched game live on nba.com

And that is one with no ads so I could hear them talking when it was timeout

JVG about Phil Jackson deciding to put Ariza in the game, quote:

JVG: "I don't understand why go with Ariza, when Vujačić is much better shooter and played well. Why are you putting Ariza? Why? (...I didn't hear this part...) So that is why we are giving him a break [Phil]. We don't question that stuff."

And at the begging of the fourth q, first thing you hear,

Mark Jackson: "I don't like this Boston line-up by Doc Rivers"

Tosser.

JVG: "I don't like this switching buttons, I'm gonna screw something tonight."  ;D

Funny part was also moments prior to T-mobile half time report.

They were discussing who will read which part when cameras go on.

"I will start with Pierce and Garnett combined for 2-16, you do free throws"

"Boosting up MJ [Michael Jordan] conversation is little silly, we won't do that"

Don't we as a collective fan base have more and better things to complain about than the best national announcing team there is?

They aren't Mike and Tommy but they are the best the national outlets are going to give us and they aren't even remotely Laker Homers.

That irritation you have is not from what you heard them say but from what you watched the Celtics do.

Nothing funnier last night than Van Gundy pleading with his "boutique" to stop charging him full price for a haircut.

I like the announcers and I'm glad they are doing the Finals. Where do people get the anti-Celtic attitude from? National Announcers can not praise the Celtics constantly, there are other fans for other teams. There is equal praise for both sides, some people just like to make stuff up so there is someone to yell at(For example Breen, Van Gundy, and Jackson). Focus your anger on the Lakers the announcers are just doing their job.
