Ask them what they think Allan Ray is going to be up to this off-season.  If they smugly correct you that "it's Ray Allen", punch them in the face.  They're not a diehard.

;)

This is the best test I have seen so far. PP is my favorite celtic, Perk is my second.

Another test is ask them who the player was that had a 10 game contract last year. And how to spell his first name...

There are no more Celtic die-hards left.  The Celtic fans from 20-30 years ago are dead.  The new crop of Celtic fans are the ones who were chanting "MVP" for Kobe last year in the garden.  Like Mike Bibby said, you are all bandwagons.

I have been a die hard fan of the Celtics from way, way back.  If you asked me my favorite player, I would tell you Perk first and then Powe and then Rondo.  I like and respect Pierce but he isn't my favorite.

Boy that's a toughy...I've been a diehard since I was pooping in my shamrock diapers (I really should have stopped wearing those in high school, but that's another story :o).  Clearly Pierce gets some points for being here for his whole career, but I can't separate him from KG.

If pressed for favorite Celts, I'd go:

1A) Pierce
1B) KG
3) Rondo
4) Powe
5) Posey

equal love for the rest in different ways at different times.

Over the years since the last championship it's been rough, but guys I've latched on to include:

Dee Brown
Kevin Gamble
Eric Williams
Antoine
Adrian Griffin for a spell
Erick Strickland " "
Big Al
Dino Radja (he had a brief time there we was pretty fun to watch)
Waltah
Gomes
Delonte
Yup

I wouldn't be able to answer most of your questions, but I don't think that would make be a bandwagon fan either. I live in WI and started watching the C's when I was 13 on the dish we had. My mother being from Taughton(sp?) suggested to pick Boston as my team, and thank God she did if you have seen the ball that Milwaukee has played in the past few years. And it was a tough time becoming a fan of this team because it was in the declining years of the 3 greats we had. But watched every game litleraly and was crushed when we lost to the hornets in the playoffs(still think that last shot was a goal tend btw) and suffered through the death of Reggie who was my idol at the time.

But then I went to college and followed the team on ESPN the best I could but really couldn't see many games. I guess I could have bought the NBA ticket, but I didn't want to pay for it not being able to see many games because of my scheduale.

The reason I give you a short biography is becuase I don't think you can judge a guys fan status just because he can't answer some trivia. I would classify myself as a big GB fan, but I couldn't name everyone on the roster. My memory sucks in that way I guess. But when it comes down to it, I love this team and have never identified myself with any other NBA team. Each playoff loss that I watched hurt as much as a packers loss and it says a lot because that team is what we live and die for in this state.

I find the post funny and creative, but just remember that outsid of NE, Celtics basketball is hard to find.

All time its Bird cause he's been my favourite since I was a kid. I was born in 77 so thats probally the case for most people in my age bracket. Right now its is KG. Not sure where that puts me but I do know:

It was Gomes, Green, Telfair, Jefferson and Ratlief for KG. I know employee #8 is Antoine (remember the commercials?). I still think the 1990/91 would have won the tittle if Bird hadn't got hurt (29-5 start).

My questions would be ask them if they know John Bagley? Sherman Douglas? Who the coach was after K.C. Jones?

The real way to tell a Celtics die hard is if they couldn't care less what time a Red Sox regular season game starts during a Celtics v Lakers finals!
;D , like that
I don't think I'd bleed green but a diehard fan who has never owned/worn any celtics clothes.
favorite all time player Dave Cowens/Larry Bird tie
current Rondo
disgusted when fans were chanting mvp for kobe, still can't get over that, i can picture max going into the stands (remember that..bucks game?)
I think a diehard fan is the guy who can go into detail about role players on teams from years past-current team.  Someone who is still bothered by a bad call that knocked us from playoffs etc.

Sherman's floater is part of my game, its something I worked on religiously in the driveway (though I do it with my left) but yeah, he was the man

Pierce has been my favorite Celtic for the last few years but i'm not a diehard

I'm more in the middle I've probably only watched about 40 games a season over the last few years, can name all the players in the Minnesota deal, but can only think of 14 guys we had under contract last year. I have watched 101 games this year so I kind of hoped on board

So I'm not a complete bandwagon jumper but definitaly not a diehard

I like the test though

I wonder if it would work for least favorite Celtic

I bet about 95% of the answers would be Cassell
