The crowd at the game last night was a joy to watch, even on TV. It seemed that they were up and chanting on every defensive possession. If you were there, great job. Pierce coming out of the tunnel must have been unbelievable.

I was there last night and the crowd was amazing. The only silence came after the Pierce injury, when it was eerily silent in the arena. When Pierce came out of the tunnel people went bananas, it was amazing. This was easily the best sporting event I have ever been too, the energy was like nothing I have ever experienced. I will never forget his game. Pierce is the man, BEAT LA!

Couldn't have said it better myself. Place was absolutely insane last night. When Pierce went down that really was the only time the stadium was somewhat quiet. I will never forget the feeling of seeing Pierce coming back on to the court and the place going absolutely nuts. I am getting chills just typing this right now.

Watching from half way around the world, I could almost feel it, I could almost feel I was there at the Garden, the atmosphere, everything, only it would've been better to be there. Great work crowd, and keep it up for Game 2! Beat LA! Ubuntu.
Anything is possible!!!

Not to put too much of a damper on this, but I have to disagree about how loud the crowd was.  Other than a few spots (after Pierce came back, and then during the 4th quarter), it was not nearly as loud and consistent as it was for most of the playoffs.

As I said in another thread, it was a very strange phenomenon.  There was an incredible amount of energy in the building, but it was very nervous energy.  Chants weren't catching on like they usually do, and in general, the level of noise was significantly lower...but you could still feel the energy.

Basically, it was like the entire building was coiled up, ready to explode, but until Pierce came back, and then they started to assert themselves in the 4th quarter, no one seemed to really let go.

Very strange atmosphere.

As a season ticket holder, I felt it was one of the tougher games to maintain intensity in due to the commercials after intros and insanely long commercials. I am always very loud, but it was forced for much of the 1st half.

Wow, Chris, not sure where you were sitting, but that was the loudest I have ever heard the new Garden.  Even louder than the amazing comeback versus NJ in the 2002 ECF.  Most fans in the area I sit, who like me are long-time season ticketholders, were commenting at how loud it was last night.

I went to game 3 of the Jazz v Lakers and was able to be in the 7th row. Everyone was saying how loud it was, and it's true it was very loud, but I remember the old Garden and going to games as a kid, I don't know if it's because I was younger then, but it just seemed like the old Garden crowd was more intense. I remember being at a game, not even the playoffs, where Ainge hit a ton of 3s and I felt like the building was going to fall in on itself. At this Jazz game a ton of the noise was manufactured. I haven't been back to the new Garden since they got Allen and Garnett, but it seems loud on TV.

I wonder if some of the perceived lack of noise is because in a weird way the crowd was TOO into the game, I know that sometimes when I'm at a game if I'm too into it, I sometimes am not as loud as I might otherwise be.
Now, on to 18...
