Bavetta, Foster, Ed F. Rush

Of the three playoff games the Lakers have lost, Ed F. Rush has been "officiating" in 2 of them and Bavetta in the other.

Looks like the league is going to do everything possible to gift the Celtics Game 1, no surprise as they want it to go as many games as possible and it is clear with a neutral playing field the Celtics are overmatched against a dominant LA squad.

No excuses if you lose tomorrow, looks like LA is going to have to overcome more NBA fix attempts just like Games 4 and 5 vs San Antonio.

"like game 4 in San Antonio."

Good luck tonight.  I'm not even touching that one.

I think it'd be more beneficial to see how they ref for home teams and against road teams.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

You shouldn't because honestly you would be overmatched on this topic with me.

Game 4 that everyone complained about the Barry call was a ridiculously slanted game IN FAVOR of San Antonio by the officials, it was an obvious attempted fix job.

FT attempts were 26-12 at the end of the 3rd qtr.  Duncan got away with a five step travel for a dunk.

But the worst was the last minute.  Before Barry caught the ball, traveled and then was contacted by Fisher... the last minute featured three other blown calls all in favor of San Antonio.

The first was the goaltend call against Odom on Parker's layup.  Odom blocked the ball before it hit glass, it was not goaltending and incorrectly awarded as such.  That isn't even debatable, the video evidence doesn't lie.  Who made that call? Joey Crawford.

The second blown call in the last minute came when Manu shot a long jumper with his foot on the line.  It was obvious his foot was on the line, it was a clear two point basket yet oddly awarded three.  Another blown call and another stolen point from the Lakers.

The third blown call came with 5 seconds left when Fisher shot the ball, it hit the rim and went off Robert Horry out of bounds.  Yet the refs claimed it didn't hit the rim (again, the overhead shot CLEARLY shows it did) and the clock was not reset.  It should have been Lakers ball with San Antonio forced to foul already down 2.  Of course, that wouldn't make for as dramatic of an ending.

Then on the final play, Barry catches the ball, moves both feet clearly without dribbling before ever being touched by Fisher.  You know what that is called?  That's right, traveling.  To have all those calls go against LA and then give Barry that call to shoot FTs at the end of a game that SA never led would have been as bad as the 2004 fix job in the NBA Finals.

The Lakers are 12-1 this postseason when Ed F Rush is somewhere else.  They are 0-2 when he "officiates" one of their games.  You really think it was an accident or mere happenstance he got this assignment?

You're kidding, I hope. Eddie F. Rush is horrible, and hates the Celtics with a passion. Dick Bavetta was at one time excellent, but over the last two years he's gotten to the point where he overturns his calls in favor of the younger official he's working with, to our detriment in a couple of recent playoff games ... just don't trust him anymore. Foster ... he's about 50/50 calls-wise, but is just plain inconsistent as all heck. Hate to disagree, but this is really a terrible line-up. It may not be favorable to the Lakers, but it's at least as bad for us.

An obvious attempted fix job, but when the officials had the perfect opportunity to call an obvious foul, they swallowed their whistles...  why, exactly?  If this was an "attempted fix job", that foul on the last play of regulation would have, you know, been a decent time to call something.

::)

At least Lakers fans are as ridiculous complaining about the refs as everyone else.  Here's a hint: most refs aren't biased towards one team or the other.  They're just incompetent.

You brought it up, not us.  Sounds like you're the one making excuses.  Be awfully hard to explain if the Lakers with the best coach, best player, best bench, best offense, etc lose tomorrow (should say tonight--I often forget I live in a different timezone).   ;)

At least it isn't Bennett Salvatore.  That guy is either crooked or terribly inept.

Boy, I just don't know how the Lakers can explain losing ANY game in this series with an entire roster of players bound for Springfield. Our horrible little team is just fortunate to be able to be on the same floor with the game's greatest collection of superstars.

 ;D

Sarcasm aside, all the gas from Hollywood has made the past six days pass quickly. Laughter will do that.

All this bombast, and they're really worried about the officials?

Half-full ... you're right, it could be a lot worse! Like say, Bennett Salvatore, Kenny Mauer, and Violet Palmer ... that would be the worst!

Well, at least we know going in that if the Celts win, it's because of biased officials wearing David Stern, "I heart the Celtics" t-shirts under their ref shirts. If the Lakers win it's superior players and superior coaches.

Go refs!

29 out of 30 NBA fans agree that the officials favor the Celtics. Are you watching different games than they are? :-)

First off 2 of these three refs suck and that's probably the reason both Laker fans and Celtics fans think they are biased against their team.

Of course my guess is Lakers fans aren't going to be complaing too much if, when we play in LA, one of the refs is Socal bot Leon Wood. That guy has a chubby for the Lakers and will give them every single call. He will probably even make up calls if it looks like the game is in jeopardy for the Lakers.
