I don't really have much of a problem with it but I'd rather have the games start earlier so I don't have to wait around for hours.

It's not convenient, but seriously, 4-5 hours of sleep is NOT that bad, and it's only every few days for a handful of nights, so get over it.

And if you deprive your kids of watching it for the same reason, shame on you. Don't drink any booze and maybe take a nap if you have time.

I'm a guy who likes to sleep 9-10 hours a night when I can, but if I have to deal with a stunted night of sleep every now and then (which believe me, I did a LOT of in college/grad school -- sometimes twice weekly for months) it's really no big deal. Just don't drink booze and eat some breakfast/stay hydrated.

I'm not trying to downplay the importance of sleep towards health and focus, but the human body is quite resiliant and adaptive.

Another tip: stay away from coffee/energy drinks. I've been up for as long as ~56 hours straight and while I felt tired, it was rarely overbearing and I attribute this to the fact that both times I drank ZERO coffee or energy drinks.

In college, I stayed up 79 straight hours.  That was a ridiculously stupid thing to do, but I somehow managed with Surge soda and No-Doz.  By the end of it, I was hearing voices.  That was something I'm never repeating again...  I can't imagine going 56 hours with no stimulants.

First time in my life i can watch the C's in the finals live on tv (i'm 47 and longtime fan). So the 3am tip-off on weeknights is not going to be a problem. We don't have Tivo in Europe, but dvr's work just as nice, so will be flippin thru the first half commercials (nobody getting tired of those nba-commercials over and over and over and over again?) and catch-up in the 3rd around 5am. L.A. time will be even better for me.

Stern should be sh*t, such disregard for fans is unbelievable. I also find it striking that the NBA is marketing globally but their site and shop are purely USA oriented. Also if a game is not aired on cable over here, i wouldn't mind paying for an all-access pass or something so i can view live over internet, but again, not for non-us "customers". Like someone siad, it's 2008 for pete's sake...

Wow.  Surge reference. TP! I thought I was the only person in the world who ever drank that stuff.  Incredible soft drink.  I was legitimately addicted to that stuff back in late '90s.

For some reason, I still have an unopened bottle of that stuff.  Memorabilia, I guess.

I loved it, too.  It's decidedly less good, though, when you drink three 12 packs in three days. ;)

The amazing thing is that someone actually came up with a "Save our Surge: The Movie"

Anyways, slightly off topic from the intention of the thread.
