It's not convenient, but seriously, 4-5 hours of sleep is NOT that bad, and it's only every few days for a handful of nights, so get over it.
And if you deprive your kids of watching it for the same reason, shame on you. Don't drink any booze and maybe take a nap if you have time.
I'm a guy who likes to sleep 9-10 hours a night when I can, but if I have to deal with a stunted night of sleep every now and then (which believe me, I did a LOT of in college/grad school -- sometimes twice weekly for months) it's really no big deal. Just don't drink booze and eat some breakfast/stay hydrated.
I'm not trying to downplay the importance of sleep towards health and focus, but the human body is quite resiliant and adaptive.
Another tip: stay away from coffee/energy drinks. I've been up for as long as ~56 hours straight and while I felt tired, it was rarely overbearing and I attribute this to the fact that both times I drank ZERO coffee or energy drinks.
