One problem San Antonio had this year was that they didn't have the second shot blocker. We do. With Ginoboli hobbled, they also lacked players to make Kobe work defensively.

I also think the best strategy is to mix things up on him.

my biggest concern is that kobe is a better player than lebron.

can this team concentrate fully for 44+ minutes on this guy? it can be done, we need to go at him on the offensive end and try to get him into foul trouble.

we also need to limit his assists, because if we do that then his team-mates aren't doing their jobs.

Kobe the scorer (nothing you can do about it) Kobe the passer/facilitator, I think we can and should take that away.  Let Fisher run the offense, let them pass through Gasol but don't allow Kobe to penetrate and pick the defense apart.

Team defense is the key...... no one player is going to stop Kobe.... it has to be a team effort.... Team defense needs to stop the other Laker players too... everyone needs to rotate crisply.

Laker have the Best Player, but we have the best team

I definitely like the idea of playing him 1-on-1 as much as possible.  The Lakers have surrounded the team with great shooters on the perimeter, so it's dangerous for Rondo and Allen to gamble if Kobe's on the perimeter.  I also like the idea of Ray Allen guarding Vladimir Radmanovic.  Yes, he gives up 5 inches, but to me that's just added incentive for the Lakers to try to go to him, which is certainly something we want.  And if they don't, it allows the C's to throw Pierce and Posey at Bryant.

Also, keep in mind that 1-on-1 doesn't mean that Garnett/Perkins can't help when Kobe drives.  I just don't like the idea of Rondo doubling Bryant and leaving Fisher open.  Ditto with Allen and Radmonavocic/Walton.

I don't know that one renders an advantage over the other, but Ray and he played together in Seattle so he may have some knowledge of his (offensive) tendencies?
