Why not just call it peeing contest? That'd work I think - I honestly clicked on it thinking it was gonna be more perverse than it really is

Looks like the mud throwing has begun. How do we respond?

after reading the article, it makes me pine for the objective journalism only the Boston Herald can afford - as much as it besmirches me to say this, I'd love to see that dude in a debate with Heinsohn...that'd be classic

All this talk amuses me.

The Lakers are quite talented, to be certain.

But I wonder who writers like this think will guard Garnett. Terrible matchup for the Lakers.

And I wonder why they assume Bryant will score whenever he wishes. Pierce and Posey have slowed down a lot of good scorers this season, and in this playoff.

I wonder if they like the matchup of Fisher against anyone.

I wonder if they feel like they've played a defensive team as good as the Celtics.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

I wasn't aware that Nicholson was as comparatively more wholesome to Belichick until reading this. Very enlightening. This guy absolutely HATES Belichick, since pre-SpyGate. I remember seeing him on ATH practically jumping for joy when that story broke back in Sep.

So Lakers in 5, okay. I just hope they don't "run up the score" on us.

Geeze...Where to start with this guys wrong headed narration; Firstly bucko, lets get something straight right from the get go ; Lookit, the billing is CelticsLakers NOT LakersCeltics , Geeze ...

That's just his first mistake and an early indication of what's to follow is a Hollywood fictional account  ;)  8)

Please don't mistake the LA Times with Laker fans.  Trust me Laker fans cannot stand most of the Sports writers at the LA Times.  This includes Plaschke, Bresnahan, and TJ Simers.  Bandwagon fans that will be on the Laker bandwagon if they win and off as soon as they lose.

Nahh, we know better, he's no fan of the sport or even a sportsman probably, just a guy hawkin' his paper route by stirrin' the pot; We understand that and the difference between that corperate take on the entertainment product they have to hawk and good solid hoops fans like yourself are a breed apart. And that's where and why we both agree... ;)

Good writer, but he doesn't know much about the basketball game.

The problem with these people is that they can write a nice piece about history and such, but when they make them become so called "experts" of basketball, of how to play the game, they fail miserably.

Was Ray Allen not proved correct about Kobe.  What seems to be the problem with that.  He was calling to be traded or talent ungraded.

Part 2  -- This is why I hate him getting the MVP.  He basically spent the whole summer trashing his team and for that he gets rewarded.  Can't help but feel something is wrong with professional sports after that.  The should give the GM the MVP because without that trade he is home playing golf.

What say in the offseason shouldn't influence mvp voting.  All that matters is your performance in the regular season and Kobe Bryant was the best player in the league.

Anyone else find it disrespectful how he suggests Phil Jackson should smoke a cigar if he wins the title? That really set me off and I would be extremely mad if I were one of Red's daughters or relatives.
