Well the Maxiell block is already all over youtube.  I hope KG watches it 1,000,000 times before Wednesday night.  Then when he headbutts the hoop before the game the hoop will collapse like Shaq was dunking on it.

Yeah great block..If only he did'nt get him with the body then hit him in the head on the follow thru

Please.  Anyone complaining about the refs tonight should have their head examined.  The Celtics got the benefit of the doubt on almost every call, which was fortunate, because they would have lost by at least 30 if they had not.

Yeah, really NO PRIDE tonight.

Game 5 is the turning point of this series.  The Celts need to attack the basket. No hesitations please when the Celts are open - especially Rondo.
Can't Doc find/create offensive patterns where players like Ray Allen and Posey can be set-up in their comfort zones.  LAL has that kind of plays for players like Vujacic, Fisher, Radmanovic and Odom.  Why does it always have to be the players who are handling the ball who should create for their own shots?  I haven't seen any Celtics play since the postseason started where players like Ray Allen, House and Posey don't get really open shots.

We better win next game convincingly or bye-bye for this season. Detroit don't care where the playing court is, they just play to win whether on the road or at home.

They havem't played any better then the Celtics have this series which is why it is tied. Celtics just have to win. That is the only thing that counts.

They haven't played better because Billups is injured.  Imagine what a blowout this game would have been if Billups could play.  Cs are playing 5 on 4 and still can't muster a W.

For the record, the three sentences above are how I relieve stress.  thank goodness for this blog or I would have to invest in a punching bag.  that or buy a new tv set everytime the Cs lose....

At the end of the day, I am just happy to see the Cs in the ECF. ok, good night everyone.
Celtics fan for life.

this would be so much easier with a solid coach.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

They are doing a good job on billups this series. If he was so hurt then why did he have such a good game 2?

I have no complaints about the officiating..That play was just not as great as ESPN made it out to be..A guy 260 or so runs at you from half court and there is no body contact...I think not

Refs did a good job tonight.Especially on that punk Rip Hamilton. The past 4 games im starting to see how dirty he is. biggest flopper next to Manu

One nice part of tonights game... seeing the refs call Dick Hamilton and B-b-b-billups for some of those cheap little fouls they always commit.  I know its very little consolation seeing as how the game turned out, but maybe it'll carry over a little and the zebras will keep an eye on those things the rest of the series

I think we have enough inputs on these and hope the Celts will still pull this one series to our favor.
Doc, please create open shots. Make ways for the Celts to find their comfort zones. There's always the feeling of inflicting a dagger to your opponent's heart when you make wide open 3s and more daggers when you keep on repeating these to other team. Break Detroit's back.  When are we going to see a Celtics team that can inflict fear to its opponent?  When players like Horford, Josh Smith, Varejao, Maxiell and McDyess are wrecking havoc on the offensive side with impunity, there's no respect gained from our past winnings.

That is the amazing thing about hamilton..He is a hatchet on defense yet on offense he is one of the worst floppers in the game..

I love the looks of bewilderment on the faces of the pistons when they actually get called for a foul

Are there really people out there screaming about how bad Doc is after watching the garbage displayed by the players on the court?

For all those people complaining about how foolish Doc was for using Cassell, please note that he was the ONLY Celtic not in the negative for the game in the +/- stats. That's right the only one. And he only missed three shots. It's not like he shot us out of the game.

31.8 FG%
11.1 3PT FG%
14 TO
12 AST
Garnett -12 for the game 6-16 FGM/FGA
Pierce  -14 for the game 3-14 FGM/FGA 4 TO
Allen   -14 for the game 2-8  FGM/FGA
Rondo   -14 for the game 2-8  FGM/FGA

None of the above stats have anything to do with Doc. The players sucked. They were worse than bad. They didn't show. They had no intensity, no cohesion, no heart in any way tonight.

Red Auerbach coaching the players on this team couldn't have won this game.

Doc may drive us all mad but he had nothing to do with why we lost. If not for the refs and the obvious one sided calls we were getting this was a 35-40 point loss.

Yeah, I basically agree.  There may have been incremental things Doc could have done tonight, and I don't think he was great by any stretch of the imagination, but this one is on the starters.

Then why does our offense look so confused? With 3 guys out there that have the ability to score(yes allen still has this) there should rarely be a problem with this offense. Whats sad is that sheed was out for an eternity and so was billups and they still couldn't get anything done. The team didn't play well I'll give you that, but Doc doen't know how to get the O on track when its sputtering.

As for sam, his numbers don't mean a thing. When it looked like our offense was making a run, he came in and it slowed way down and didn't pick up again until he was out.

Wow 21 and 16 for McDyess.  TWENTY-ONE AND SIXTEEN!!!!  I have respect for Antonio's game but we really can't let players like that look like superstars.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."
