Looking at the results, which team do you think has the best chance of winning the championship?  Objectively, do you think the Lakers have the best chance?

At this point, San Antonio looks like they won't be around much longer.  Detroit won one in Boston, so objectively, they have the edge in that series.  And the Lakers are looking great.  What do you think?

I think if the Celtics make it into the finals they win it, and if the pistons make it into the finals the lakers win it (unless the spurs get in).

Only 14 of 222 teams have advanced when
being down 0-2 so I think it's fairly safe
to say that the Spurs won't make it into
the NBA Finals. The Lakers will have to be
really bad to let this series get away now.
4 games to 2, Lakers.

I still say Boston in 7 in the East because
they can't keep losing on the road. Celtics
in 7 games.

In the Finals, things may go either way but
off course we're all hoping for Banner 17...
If we play D like we did all season, I think
we'll be just fine.
And remember, we beat both Lakers and Spurs
away from home.
This simply has to be OUR year!

Whoever gets out of LA-SA. But since LA's leading the series, i'm gonna say LA. In part because of Kobe. But more because of Phil Jackson. i hold the notion that you don't win championships w/o HOF coaches. Jackson's in the Hall. Popovich will be in the Hall. When was the last time a non-HOF coach managed to lead a team to the championship? Don't get me wrong, I hope and pray Doc will get to break that notion but unless he does something spectacular, i see that the notion will hold true to form.

I don't want this to be about Doc, but in a way I agree with shbanua.  Doc is a good leader and a good communicator.  He's well-respected by the players.  But, he doesn't strike me as a master of strategy.  Remember how Bird used to describe Bill Fitch?  I think in this situation, we would benefit from having someone like Bill Fitch.

To be honest, I see whoever comes out of bos v det having the best chance of taking out the championship.

I look at being the opposite way. Whoever comes out of the West is most likely to win. That makes the Lakers a distant frontrunner for the title.

Right now you have to give it to LA becasue they are playing the best ball. But they are not the best team, I still believe boston is, its just they are not playing up to their potential right now. I'm going to say something that no talking head on tv will, Boston will win it all if and only if they start playing they way they did all season.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Right now, I think any of the four teams could be NBA Champs this year...but, boy do I want the Celts to take it!!  They have as good a chance (even having lost home court) as anyone, but will have to do the toughest thing in sports which is play each game, 48 minutes.  Don't look back, and don't look ahead.  The game you are playing is the only game that matters!   GO CELTS!

The way Lakers are playing now it will be hard not to pick them. Besides, they have the best player in the planet "KOBE".

LA

This thread reminds me of something I wanted to say for a very long time:

Chris Wallace, eh? Pff...
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I honestly do not see anyone beating the Lakers.

honestly, i could make a strong case for all four teams left, as to why they will win the title.  if i had to pick one team i say the spurs.  i know it doesnt look great right now, but they have been there so many times, veteran team in high level games, solid in every position (including coaching), and they are the defending champs so you can never count them out.

they showed alot in the last series against the hornets, coming back and taking game 7 on the road.

As much as it kills me to say it, LA.

Kobe doesn't deserve it and I'll puke watching the adulation he'll receive for it.
