Despite all the doom and gloom of the last couple series, look back for a moment - we've had:
- A first-round series marked by sloppy play on the road and dominance at home, capped by a Game 7 blowout which included shutting down all of Atlanta's best players, and KG with a highlight knockout of the pesky Pachulia.
- A second-round series against the player most likely to surpass Jordan (apologies to Kobe) - we shut him down most of the series, lost 2 close games and 1 blowout on the road, continued to win at home, and put together an epic Game 7, despite a great LeBron performance, that none of us will soon forget.
- Now, a very good Game 1 win against the best Eastern conference team of the decade, and 3rd best overall (Spurs and Lakers 1-2, of course).
- Overall: 2 straight Game 7 wins, one an all-time blowout and one an all-time battle; 9-0 record at home, 0-6 record on the road (bad, but contributes to the historic nature of the run), we've knocked out one of the 2 best individual players and are trying to knock out the best Eastern Conference team of this generation.
Despite the struggles of this team, can anyone say we won't be remembering and talking about these playoffs years from now? Granted we're not there yet, but with a prospect of a great Detroit series, potentially followed by a Finals against either the Lakers (nuff said) or the defending champion Spurs, this could easily be the most remarkable playoff run a Celtic team has had since at least 1984 (86, yes we won, but we were dominant for much of the run, and were unquestionably the favorites throughout). Good times to be a Celtics fan...
