I haven't seen the replay yet but ...

I didn't think Barry got enough contact. Could have gone either way, same thing happened to LeBron in the Finals last season when he didn't get the call. If Barry had of jumped towards where Fisher was landing he definitely would have gotten the call. Barry hesitated and didn't take full contact, like Dirk does, so he didn't get the call. If he'd gone straight up and let Fisher hit him in midair he'd have gone to the line.

You have to be kidding me.  Fisher landed on top of Barry and hit his head.  Unbelievable that anyone would think that was not a foul.

yeah, it looked to me like Fischer was about to land on Barry's left shoulder

the only thing better to end this game from a pure are you kidding me is if the foul was on TD, joey doesn't call it, Timmy rushes over, gets in his face and joey looks at him and a manical grin slowly spreads on his face, the whistle comes out and he says;

"you should have destroyed  me when you had the chance!!! BUWHAhaAHaha

The idiocy of ESPN is driving me crazy.  First you have Tim Legler (I think) saying that while there was enough contact for a foul to be called, Barry did not sell it enough.  So now you have to flop and sell a foul in order of it to get called!  He then goes on to say that there is a pecking order in the league and if that was Kobe or Ginobli they definitely get that foul called.  If that is not enough of an indictment on the league, the co-host (not sure who he is), says when is a foul a foul in the NBA?  He then adds, I guess it depends when it happens in the game and who has the ball.  This league is sick and needs someone to help it recover.

Okay I've seen a replay.

I'll give the foul but it wasn't on the shot attempt. Contact was before the shot. Barry avoided the contact, moved right, then got hit, then put the ball on the floor instead of shooting up through Fisher, then picked up the ball, then Fisher landed, then Barry started to load up to shoot, then he shot the ball. I wouldn't give a foul on a shot attempt there. The dribble hit the floor after Fisher made contact.

Two FTs would have tied it up. Big no call.

Anyway .... I think Brent Barry made the biggest mistake of the night not going into Fisher's body with the shot attempt.

Edit: Okay now I've seen it from another angle. I'm going back to my first reaction. It was a borderline call that could have gone either way. There wasn't much contact, it wasn't in the act of shooting, Barry went away from it. That's not a situation where you regularly see a foul called.

More bad officiating..... You know, I'm about to boycott the NBA..... if the Celtics get eliminated, I'm done watching the NBA this year.....

Man, if this happened to the C's I'd officially stop watching NBA basketball....

Yeah I'd be right there with ya! To me what Stern & the officiating has done to the NBA is just as low as Donaghy. Definitely if we lose this series I'll be taking a break from sports until football starts. No way will I watch the Finals & Kobe's coronation!!!

Yup ... the resemblances to last night's game were erie, Edgar ... especially the first half. The Spurs actually showed some life in the end, though, where we just fizzled. It's a shame this one ended on such a lousy note ... it would be nice if games were decided more by the players, not the officials ... classic Joey Crawford bias. Barry should have gone to the line ... no question.

These have got to be the worst officiated NBA playoffs in decades....

the clock malfunction in Detroit against the Magic that no official caught which allowed Detroit to score and it affected the final score.....

The charge on Pierce taken by Lebron that was clearly a blocking foul that prevented the C's from winning the game....

and now this....

It's not rocket science. Play Brent Barry minutes and you're a better basketball team. All playoffs long I've wanted this guy to get minutes. He was a key last night and he's the reason (after Duncan/Parker) the Spurs are still in this game.

Brilliant shooter. Quality passer. Good ballhanlder. Long, active, plays solid D, moves well without the ball, runs the floor. That sounds like a player that is worth having on the floor. Especially when you've been dying on perimeter shots all series and have been inconsistent throughout the playoffs and mediocre throughout the regular season from three as a team. Spurs need more shooters.

Barry does for San Antonio what Korver does for Utah. He needs minutes.

Glad to see Pop playing him tonight, must continue playing him to have any hope in this series.

But he is a little bit streaky.

He's not streaky. Barry is about as pure a shooter as you'll find in the league. He shot 48% from the field and 42% from downtown this season. He's shot 40% or above from three for 7 of his last 8 seasons. Don't think he's streaky elsewhere in his game either, he's a very dependable player.

I said a little bit. I wasn't arguing that he was a good ball player or shooter. I guess I should have said I agree but he is a little bit streaky at times. Last year in the playoffs came to mind when i was writing the post.

Because the NBA doesn't think refs are human and hold grudges..... I mean, I would definately choose a ref to officiate a game for a team that cost him a suspension last year.......

I guess we can look at the bright side ... I think the NBA REALLY wants the Celtics vs. Lakers.
