We only have 3 players that can drive off the dribble:

1. Paul Pierce - Looks like he has lost a half a step.

2. Tony Allen Has no confidence.

3. Rajon Rhondo has lost confidence through rejection.

The offseason Mid-level exemption needs to be allocated toward a player who can slash to the hole or just as easly stop and pull up for a jumper.

We need an 8th man with this ability and with Tony Allen being a free agent Ricky Davis comes to mind as a good replacement. He has played with almost everyone on this team at one point or another and Confindence is never an issue with this guy...

Other idea's utilizing the MLE to address this need?

we wont be getting another player during these playoffs.

we need the offense to find themselves again, more team basketball, less "hero" shots and more hard work.

the performance and effort of the last 2 games has been pathetic and i'm sick of it!

The Celtics don't need to add another player to attack the rim.

They just need the players that can to stop settling for jumpshots.

They need to go to more post ups as well.

And another problem is that this offense is set up to be happy with a jumpshot.

We need Al Jefferson.

Well, maybe we don't need someone that good, but we need a post player who has at least some moves. Perkins is just brutal on offense. When our outside shots aren't falling we have nobody who can score down low.

Ray Allen can create his own shot; he's just not asked to / allowed to in our offense, for the most part.  You don't score 26 points per game by being a spot-up shooter.

I agree whole-heartedly with wdleehi's assessment.  I put a lot of the blame on Paul's shoulders; he is the best player on our team at penetrating and getting to the line, and for the most part, he hasn't been doing it.  As mentioned above, he's settling.  The same is true of Rondo, by and large.

Sam Cassel finds himself open shots, he just cant hit them. Ray Allen needs to find his shot once in a while. He is a great pull up shooter and he should take advantage of that. Ray Allen is a WEAPON and he needs to be used. He is playing too reserved and its causing him to settle. He isnt making things happen, but I'm not sure why. He might just be really nervous and he gets passive.

Hmmm...come to think of it Wally & Delonte have outplayed Ray Allen.  Why'd we make those trades again? ;)

A right minded Tony Allen would help some, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.  I agree that Pierce has to take it to the hole more and get to the line.  Was it the 4th quarter last night when the C's had the Cavs in the penalty at the 8 minute mark then didn't get to the line for almost 5 minutes.  The best stretch they had all night was when they got Lebron in foul trouble at the end of the 1st half.  They had an opportunity to attack last night and couldn't or wouldn't.
