Kevin Harlan for me all day, every day.

After all, if it wasn't for him, what would my user name be???

Possibly Young Fella as I recall Trent Tucker used to call KG that when he was calling games. For example, when KG unleashed a dunk it would be "Go easy on them Young Fella. Don't be so mean."  :)

Haha, I have a KG video clip with Tucker saying that exact line.... it was a great line, but I think "young fella" is too generic to be any single player's nickname.  I'll stick with Kevin Harlan's "Big Ticket"... "Ohhh Kevin Garnet! Up high, and down hard!" "RIGHT... between the eyes!".

Now this is more like it: Love this Breen-JVG-Jax team going tonight.

Two fun exchanges...

[Graphic of the All-NBA team]
Mark: I'm glad that's how it went, because that was my first team as well.
Breen: Nobody cares.

--------

Mark: I was driving during that Game 5 between LeBron and the Pistons last year, but what he was doing was so special that I just sat in the car in park and listened.
JVG: What, you can't even multi-task enough to drive and listen?
Mark: I had reached my destination, and it didn't have a TV.
Breen: The McDonald's drive through?

They definitely come through better through actually hearing it...but I love these guys.

Definitely, they were great tonight - I especially enjoyed Van Gundy's scarlet letter idea for flopping (while he wasn't being completely serious there, his earlier points regarding controlling flopping were pretty good).

Absolutely right, threzd.  While he wound up going into what he called "far-fetched" territory, it was a nicely comedic finish to a very well thought-out commentary on the issue of flopping in the league...I enjoyed that as well.  People have mentioned don the board before that he does a great job commenting seriously on the NBA and fitting his entertainment niche with Breen and Jax as foils (I'm not a big Jax fan on his analysis alone, but I can't help but admit that he has great chemistry with the other two), and I can't help but agree.

The first version I saw tonight was Comcast with Tommy and Mike, (my guys), but I'm watching the ESPN re-broadcast right now and I concur that I like the chemistry with these guys ... and Van Gundy can be a riot at times! I will then watch the Comcast re-broadcast at 6:30 AM ... this is heaven ... the C's three times in one night! (Makes my work go by so much faster) And they're going to win all three games!!

Yeah, if only would integrate the triple-header into the schedule more often  ;D...enjoy your re-broadcasts, Bahku...and here's hoping for another big win on Saturday night to boot!

I hear ya, SW ... it would be a huge boost to finally be able to say we've won one on the raod, and a great thing for the confidence of our boys in green. It seems now like that's one of the few hurdles we have left to get over ... at least emotionally. Go C's!

Tirrico,Brown paired up today in the Utah/Lakers playoff game wasn't to bad...they actually bounced off each other quite well.Neither ever been one of my fav.announcers, but it goes to show you,a lot depends on who you work best with.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
i would love to see former celtic (and current clipper color-guy) mike smith paired up with mike gorman.

it must be hard for mark jackson to talk since he appears to have lebron's wiener in his mouth the whole game...

Loved Walton. Just the huge praise for any big man. For example, if BBD hit a shot it would be, "BBD is dominating this game. He's playing like no other big man in the history of the NBA. The only thing that would make this better is if he was a product of the greatest educational institution in the world, UCLA." :)

I'm getting fed up of hearing those same irritating voices. I couldn't even watch the game. Hubie was getting on my nerves that much during the first quarter. Just this grating noise in the background ... ughhh. Pull Jon Barry out of that studio and give us a break just for a game here and there. It's too much

I agree they weren't too bad. I'm just sick of hearing them over and over and over and over again. Especially Hubie. Mix it up a bit. This repetition is getting on my last nerve.

I like Mike Smith a lot. Quality broadcastor. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable and likeable. Nice mix, what's so hard about hiring people like that? Tells the odd joke. I like Mike Smith.

Mike Smith was one of the first non-Hornet to seriously compliment David West's emerging post game while everyone else across the league refused to, all they kept talking about how he only had a midrange jump shot and how Chris Paul created everything for him. Mike talked about the hard work and how he added something specific each year and how he's become a lethal low post player. I like Mike Smith. He knows his business. Lots more stuff like that from Mike, you get information and analyis on a nightly basis from him. He knows the league, he knows the personnel and tells you about them in joyful ways. I like Mike Smith.
