Stockton is over the hill, his time has come and gone, seems like the same with Fratello too at this point. It is embarrassing to hear all the mistakes Stockton makes.
Breen, JVG and Jackson are knowledgeable and sometimes funny, but there was a noticeable bias especially in Game 7 for the Hawks. I was at the game, but recorded it and watched it later. It was as if they were at a different game than I was. I realize that the Hawks as the 8 seed was a pretty compelling story nationally, but every single play was framed by Breen from the Hawks' perspective, seems he is not able to completely shed his NY bias when it comes to doing Celtics games.
For one example of many I heard, on the play where Cassell came up with a loose ball, and then Horford clearly took his legs out, even more clear on TV than it was in person when of course the Garden was in an uproar, Breen explained that Cassell was upset, but that he shouldn't be, that he had simply tripped/rolled over Horford, that Horford had not done anything to cause the contact. Even as the Celtics were building a commanding lead, and should still be a story despite being taken to 7 games since they won 66 games, all 3 announcers kept having an ongoing discussion of how Atlanta's intensity was not up to par for a 7th game, what they needed to do to get back in the game, etc. NEVER mentioning anything about how well the Celtics were playing.
I know the Celtics were supposed to win, so I guess them stomping the Hawks was no big deal, but to not even talk about how well they were playing at all? They kept the Hawks discussions going, even right through Celtics baskets, you rarely hear Gorman and Heinsohn, except in a meaningless game, keep talking over a current play in motion, even for the other team, Gorman usually announces what just happened.
