No nay never.

Celts in 5

I am not saying the Celtics are a lock to win.

I am saying there is no way you can call the Celtics 'the underdog.'
Yup, got that.

No Nay never are Celts dogs.

If we're favored, it's definitely not by as much as before the hawks series.  I thought wizards would beat the cavs in 6, but that lebron dude is just a force.  if wally and delonte start hitting shots (like they have in some of those games vs the wizards), we'd be in a tougher fight than it already is.

I don't know who is favored or who is the underdog in the next series, but the players in the post game press conf. say Cleveland is the reigning Eastern Conf. Champions and it's up to us to beat them. I think both teams have a healthy respect for each other.

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Have we watched the NBA this year? How could one think the Celtics are the underdogs?

I think the Celtics are the underdogs in terms of experience and composure. It's all a matter of who's going to step up to counter LeBron in the fourth on the road, both defensively and offensively, when he gets hot. If no one can do this, we're in trouble.

I'm relieved we're playing the Cavs ( and later Pistons ) now.  We match up a whole lot better with those team because aside from LeBron James, neither team has any athletic players.

did you guys see lebron in the playoffs last year? this isn't going to be a cakewalk.

we are the underdogs, these are the eastern conference champs and they just handily beat a team that beat us 3 times in the regular season.

It makes no difference which team is the favorite. That's why they don't play the games in the media or on this blog - oh, wait, there's Fantasy League.

Wally and Ray kind of cancel each other out. Allen is decidedly in decline, so I wouldn't count on any edge there. Pierce will have his hands full chasing LeBron and trying to stay out of foul trouble since the NBA has apparently adopted James as it godson.

This will be a very tough series - I can see it easily going the full seven games.

They are not the reigning Eastern Conference champions, this year's team is completely different from last year.  Like the Patriots always say, they are not "defending" last year's title, they are going after this year's title.  In modern day pro sports, because of the high turnover, there really is no defending champs anymore.  Last year was last year, this year is completely different, has nothing to do with what the Cavs did last year.

Decidedly in decline?  Wow, thanks for letting us all know.  Admittedly he didn't shoot well in the Hawks series, but I think you are pulling the plug on him a bit early.  If Ray is decidedly in decline, then Wally has fallen off the mountain, there is an edge there for the C's for sure.  By your logic, are you saying we may as well have kept Wally and not acquired Ray?  Come on...

Ray has shot relatively well against the Hawks... one bad quarter in game six, and a bad game seven.  Other than that, he's been shooting the ball quite well.
