Given the fact that the Hawks took us to 7 are we now the underdogs versus the Cavs?

I am not saying the Celtics are a lock to win.

I am saying there is no way you can call the Celtics 'the underdog.'

All right, let me rephrase my question. In the eyes of the media and national experts will the Celtics be described/written up as the underdogs?

8 out of 10 experts are picking the Celtics.

Still no

The Cavs are the most disrespected team in the league. Nobody outside of LeBron gets any meaningful praise. There's no way they get picked over a 66 win titan that's considered one of the best defensive teams of recent memory and are led by a star trio of Garnett/Pierce/Allen. Won't happen.

Heck the Wizards were picked by many to beat the Cavs. No way will the Celtics be the underdogs in the media

Not remotely .... Cavs are the underdogs ... but if they want to think we are, we'll let them!

No way should we be considered the underdogs, each series  brings a different set of circumstances. The Hawkes biggest assets were young, and athletic, unlike the Cavs.Lebron is the anticipated problem to take care of.But i dont think we will or should lose this series.Adjustments are always the key,to any problem in a series.

No, but the Cavs aren't underdogs either.  Not every series needs an underdog, there isn't a clear cut favorite.  Slight edge to the Celtics.

you have to think the Cavs were hoping to play the Hawks :) We are definitely the favorites going into this series. Now if it comes down to a pistons-celtics series, that one will be very divided by media and fans alike.

no, but im sure the line moved a bit towards the cavs.

i honestly think we have better match ups vs CLE, since while the hawks don't have elite defenders, they did have fast athletic kids at every position who could be a pain with thier length. the cavs on the other hand have some down right terrable defenders.

for instance, wally "i don't DO defense" zerbaick vs ray allen. Ray can run him off on screens 24/7.

KG should also have a big advantage. Pierce will have a tougher time, but bron bron isn't an elite defender, though he is no slouch.

Ray is going to be huge this series, they really don't have a great guy at chasing guys off screens/ picks. Ray should get a ton of open looks off wally, if he's hot and we contain queen james, we should be fine.
