I feel even if we win this series, its not because of Doc's coaching abilties,it will be because, the veteran players, are going to start thinking outside the box.Great players, figure out how to win on their own.Pierce,KG,Ray need to have a conf.with the other players, exclude Doc.,figure some tradegies of their own.

TP jay-jay. I agree. As I posted elsewhere I was watching the game with my son who is a soccer player and knows very little about the game of basketball.

During one timeout he said "Why doesn't Doc go big and put Posey on Johnson and have KG, Perk, Rondo, and Pierce be the other guys. Posey's a better defender than Ray, isn't he."

That is an exact quote from a 13 year old kid who would prefer to watch the Revolution and kick a beanie bag around for hours than watch 10 minutes of basketball.

A 13 YEAR OLD NON BASKETBALL NEOPHITE FAN FIGURED THIS OUT. And Doc couldn't.

I really don't care how they do it, but they have to win the next 2 games.

Then there needs to be a giant step up across the board going into the next series.

This isn't panic.

This is anger.

Angry knowing that this Celtics team is so much more talented then the Hawks.

Angry knowing that this is not what championship level teams do.  They put away sub 500 teams.

This series should be over.

Anger is the proper response.  If you've watched the NBA for any amount of time, Game 4 is when the superior team all but ends a series against a weaker team.

In this case -- a team with the NBA's best regular season record -- getting humiliated by a lousy team with a sub .500 record.  When I say humiliated I mean out hustled, out toughed and out played.

If you do this to the Cavs you say it's still 2-2, you blew a great opportunity, but the series is far from over.  Here you say, win or lose this series, something's very wrong with this picture.

The Celtics choked tonight -- in the worst way possible, when it counted.

well their is a bright side to it all,at least we didn't get swept, like Denver just did.But i here what you are saying ,it definitely has to be some big steps taken,to avoid losing again. Those young guy are pumped, and now have the confidence to go with their athleticism, which could be a big problem, especially if they take one in Boston.I would hate to see what happens after that game. But it might be the wake up call DA needs to do what he needs to do.

If the C's don't get to the Eastern Conference Finals Doc needs to be fired.

If he can't get this collection of stars and unified athletes into the ECF he needs to lose his job and leave basketball entirely. It would be a waste of truly a very special and historic piece of regular season work.

That reminds me, this all sounds strangely familiar. Something about 18-0 comes to mind.

Let's all pray that history does not in fact repeat itself.

(Take that little, Giant's smirk off your face wd, now's not the time to gloat) ;) ;D

could we have imagined a worse scenario than getting bounced in the first round by the hawks and getting outcoached by mike woodson?  i still think we'll take this series but suddenly i'm not as confident after this game.

The bigger question is:
Can he coach THIS YEAR'S TEAM out of
the 1st round?

They're in that twilight zone now where freaky upsets can occur -- much the way Dallas was last year vs. Golden State.

Atlanta could potentially do it.  Tonight's loss was devastating -- as much for the way it occured as the fact that it did occur.

Atlanta's sky high with nothing to lose and a star player on a roll.  And the C's have a coach and 3 star players who have never really won anything in the playoffs.  And that's hanging over their heads like an albatross.  Plus no set rotation with their bench so no one's 100% sure of what they'll be expected to do.

And yet another game lies ahead where they're 'expected' to win and win handily.

All the ingredients are in place for a collapse of epic proportions -- all thanks to the choke job that they submitted tonight.

I dont think Doc is a great "coach". I think the real "coach on the team is Thibadeau and Clifford Ray. Doc is like the gigantic babysitter there to manage egos and personalities. I think this has been proven and stated many times but the bottom line is hes not great with X's and O's and last night he showed horrible deciso makeing of who to play and when. Hes better at the behind the scenes coaching not on the court. The real question for me is where the heck is Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. I dont think either have really showed up to this series yet. Its reminding me horribly of our "outstanding" offensive line of Patriots not showing up for the biggest game of their lives in the Superbowl with an undefeated season on their hands. The Hawks obviously arent going to roll over and die. So Paul Ray and for that matter even lesser components such as Eddie House Sam Cassell Big Baby need to step up and play how they've played all season. I know KG is in this series i know Pose showed up so where the heck is the rest of the best team in the regular season?

Doc needs to be fired because there is going to be a Game 6 against the Hawks.

There is absolutely no excuse for this at all. NONE
