Only 4 home games in November? CRAZY!
means a lot of home games later -- really hoping this iteration of the C's gets back to making the Garden a real homecourt advantage instead of how they've played there the last several years

Late in the game when they were up 4 with just 3 minutes to go, instead of settling for low-IQ 3s, Tatum got to his spot and knocked down 2 easy mid-ranges. More of that please!  ;D

The team shot 27% from three and finished with a double figure win.  That is absolutely huge.  In this past they would have had massive struggles pulling off a win on poor shooting night like this.

Even important - Tatum shot 42% from the field and 1-5 from three and was still one of the most efficient offensive players on the court, with 32 points on 19 FGA.

Tatum's aggression lately and ability to draw fouls at a high rate is an absolute game changer, because it means that even when his shot is not falling, he can still find a means to carry the offence and put pressure on opposing defences.

If Tatum can continue to average in the ballpark of 30 pts, 8 ast and 10+ FTA while also routinely making big clutch baskets like he has been so far..you have to think he would be very high up in the MVP conversation.  Especially if the Celtics keep rolling as they have - they have one of the highest point differentials in the league right now.

On another note, an ECF matchup between the Celtics and Sixers is starting to look like a very real possibility.  I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if the league were to go out of it's way to try to make that happen.

These first few games with Paul George have shed new light on past discussions about the merit of keeping Brown and Tatum together. Were they redundant to the point of diminishing return ? Was the offense too much of 'my turn' and 'your turn' repetition. I would say they tried to make the very talented duo work together the best they could and we did win a title with them.

Having said that, Paul George just seems to fit in much better with our offense. He is such a good facilitator and does not become an impediment the way that Jaylen sometimes did. Of course, Brown was such a talented pure scorer, whether he was driving to the rim, hitting the mid-range jumper or his improving 3-point shot. But I'm starting to think the better choice is a facilitator who can also score (George) as opposed to the pure scorer (Brown), who would impede ball movement and interfere with Tatum's game rather than compliment it.

Of course, no matter how much better the offense might run with Paul George, we still have to overcome our coach's destructive offensive scheme (tonight 44 3-point attempts at 27%). Many of those 3-point attempts were awful shot selection. Glad we won, but as we all know we can win 60 games every year and Mazzulla will find a way to lose in the playoffs. When will Brad and ownership wake the hell up ?
The Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett - Tatum

The Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce - Brown

I'm guessing Mazzulla chewed Tatum out after the game for such a transgression.

It?s a small sample size but in most of the games this year the Celtics have taken fewer % of their shots from 3 than their opponents.

Just finished watching. Good win. Other than a couple of bad passes by DW and JT, Cs got it done down the stretch with big plays by Tatum, George, and Q. I like 36yo PG better than 30 yo JB.  I expect an injury to burst the bubble but he?s been really good.
