MAYE WHAT ARE YOU DOING???

I hate to say it, but I fear he's not the guy. Too many mistakes. Low football IQ. Drew freaking Lock just outplayed him.

It reminds me of Drew Bledsoe. Lots of talent but ultimately loses his head under pressure. Maybe Drake can win with a perfect team around him. Our defense is fantastic. But if you can't score against good defenses then you are unlikely to get over the hump.

Its OK to have bad games!

I really started getting bad vibes at the end of the first half.   Felt like they were "sitting on" a 7-0 lead.  Just super conservative.  I guess it kind of worked.  They were in a position to win at the end of the game, but man this just wasn't a game they should have lost.  Very disappointing.

I feel like they started off awful last year because they blew off the pre-season with a lot of new pieces, and the same holds true last night.

Yup

The Pats seem to always "rest on their laurels" whenever they have a lead. They act like a 7-10-point lead is huge and they can just burn the clock when there's still half a game to be played.

I also remain unconvinced that McDaniels is anything more than a slightly above-average OC.

And you're right: For some reason, the Pats treat the first month of the regular season as the real training camp, which is so frustrating.

Can?t wait for the rest of this sub-.500, nonplayoff campaign.
Im sure you said theyd suck last year too

I think I did, but they ended up with a very favorable schedule that made them look a lot better than they were. Once they faced a really good team in the SB, they could no longer hide their true colors.

Their schedule this year is much tougher, and they just lost their only game-changing WR for at least several weeks. The O-line is still shaky, and Maye is still a terrible decision maker when it comes to taking sacks/throwing the ball away/throwing the ball right at defenders. Hopefully they all improve, but they don't have nearly the same margin for error as they did last season.
