doesn?t sound like talks got far, and Boston clearly didn?t end up in James? final five, but it?s interesting nonetheless to see that there was real pursuit from Brad Stevens and the organization, even for the long-time rival who supposedly ?hates? Boston. As weird as it would have been to embrace James in Boston, it?s good to know that Stevens isn?t thinking like that and is only trying to maximize the roster and win

If LeBron was willing to sign for the minimum, or even the BAE, that would have been a no-brainer.  You even go into the repeater for him because he brings in a ton of extra revenue.  So of course they checked in, and of course they had no chance.  Although, as I said in the LeBron-Tatum thread, I think his on-court fit here would have been better than anywhere, and he would have had the best chance to win outside of going to OKC or San Antonio.
