C's are potential landing spot for Bradley Beal

If it's for the minimum, I'm down. I still think he'd be one of our better bench scorers assuming health which is obviously the risk, but again, for the minimum it's ultimately low risk.

They just need to get under the tax by the trade deadline so they could just offload Beal or someone else then but honestly I'd give it a shot with Beal.

Jake Fischer: "I was told today that Bradley Beal's decision is not exactly being held up by LeBron, but is being impacted by it. I do think there's some Miami interest there, and I would not rule out Boston for Beal because of the connection with Jayson Tatum. He could go back to the Clippers.  Beal is definitely going to be signed by a team with playoff aspirations, that is my understanding there."

So, just pure speculation because he and JT are friends.

I don't buy the "he is friends with Tatum" line of thought/speculation.  I do not believe that Stevens asked Tatum his opinion nor does Tatum want to be asked.  Maybe Beal has interest in BOS because he is friends with Tatum, but I doubt even that is a factor.  Stevens is not going to offer Beal a deal just because he is friends with Tatum (from the same hometown I believe).

All this report is saying is that he would not rule out Boston, which means nothing, pure speculation, as Roy says.

Miami makes a whole lot more sense, but that appears to be pure speculation also.

If the Celtics had a roster spot available, or didn't care about going into the luxury tax, I would say there is a chance.

But since neither of those are true, I find it unlikely.

They have a roster spot available, and avoiding the luxury tax would be really easy if they are interested in Beal.

I'd rather just give that last roster spot to a rookie minimum guy like Mitchell.

Not a fan of signing a washed up two-guard when the C's have plenty of young wing guys I'd rather see get minutes. That's something bad franchises do.

My fault -- I was/am assuming the Celtics want to continue going with 14 guys. And if they sign him it will be a 2.4(ish) million cap hit, so they'd need to get rid of someone afterward to stay below the tax.

Hopefully Brad learned from last year that needing to dump people mid-season (Minott and Simons) can make your team worse. Better to just go into the season knowing you can keep everyone if things are going well.

Seems like a low risk/high reward scenario if it?s for the Vet minimum. If Beal can play 20-25 mpg, that would be a solid addition.

Also, apparently Beal and Paul George are friends as well. So he would get to play with two of his buddies.

For the vet minimum, sure. That could potentially pay off. Otherwise, no, because he's hurt a lot.
