I hate Lebron, but to get banner 19 he  would be a great help for the Cs.

I also hate LeBron, but I am pretty sure I could quickly learn to like him if he came to Boston.

To me it comes down to whether he is more interested in winning another title or his victory tour/lap and all the ceremonies.  I like him as a player still, I think he could help the team, but I am not sure I could stomach all the victory tour/lap nonsense.

Wouldn't it be a gas, if it turned out that Lebron has straight up forgotten to make a free agency decision because he has been so busy living his life?

This.  He & his team knows his decision is the biggest thing left in the NBA offseason news cycle.  They are gonna milk this decision to death.

The is to me is  funniest thing.  Yeah it is a big story but  him treating this like the "Decision"l is a joke on him.  He isn't even a top 20 player anymore and half the fans hate him.

CLE wants him but he will go wherever he has the best chance to win a ring.  That is not here, folks.  Woe to the team that signs him.  Father time is eating away at him.

He is the anti- Celtic to me, and I don't want him on the team.  A modern day Wilt, who was supremely talent but often disappeared in big winning moments in the Finals

I saw some youtube video late yesterday from a guy who is a non-LeBron basketball fan. He had a pair of clips for CLE talk radio basketball stations where they weren't even sure if they wanted LeBron. The guy was claiming there wasn't that much demand to bring LeBron back.

You get a lot of good stuff with LeBron but you get a bunch of bad stuff too -- where everything revolves around him in terms of the media cycle, outside noise, and now his agent has a podcast criticizing the team to protect LeBron from criticism.

There was this feeling of - CLE is good already. Don't upset the apple cart.

Even more than negative or positive reactions to LeBron joining, it felt like ambivalence. Folks just do not care. And it is not just CLE (his home team where his biggest legacy is), it is a bunch of teams.

San Antonio already rejected LeBron. They thought he would be a negative influence around their young guys.

This is ridiculous, he made up his mind where he's playing long ago and it's not Boston.

The only mystery is why he's taking so long to announce it. All the other FAs have already signed. My best guess is he's waiting till after the World Cup Final so the media spotlight is increased.

It?s a power play to satisfy his ego and that of Rich Paul. He likes the idea that at 41 years old, 16 years from his first Decision, he can still make the league stop and have GMs beg for his services, even if he?s only gonna be signing for an MLE or a vet min. He likes the idea that people are speculating about it, hoping he?s  gonna pick their team, like we are right now  :police:

Heck, even Adam Silver didn't even hide it. Silver is literally waiting for LeBron to make his decision so he can plan the NBA schedule around him. Esp for opening night, Christmas etc

Schedule hasn't been released until mid-August for the past several years.

LeBron hates Boston. He is not coming here.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I mean, I guess they were both on the ground, but from that video I wouldn't call them "together."

I've always hated Lebron the basketball player, but I'm pretty sure I could talk myself into him pretty quickly if he agreed to whatever the best contract we could offer.

I think we'd be the favorites. George/White would be ideal as a third/fourth option, with Pritchard coming off the bench driving the offense in his minutes.

True but there's this piece

Adam Silver, Pat Riley among the many people waiting for LeBron James' free-agent decision

"We have to finish up the schedule and where LeBron plays affects the schedule," Silver told CNBC's Andrew Ross Sorkin, via The Athletic's Mike Vorkunov. "It will influence how we set the schedule ? opening week, Christmas. So I need him to make a decision."

There's a conspiracy theory floating out there that ESPN is sitting on Lebron to GSW based on some PTI podcast episode title indicating he was joining Golden State.

More entertaining than anything else.  We're essentially in the doldrums of the off season now.

Jeff Teague has a new video with his dad where his dad says LeBron is just an empty stats player now.

I don't think that was correct. If LeBron was an empty stats player, he could not have kept LAL alive without Luka & A Reaves and lead them to a playoff series win over Houston. He still has a good impact out there.

Seems like a good fit to me:

Harden
Mitchell
LeBron
Mobley
Allen

Harden declined his $42.3M option, presumably to accept less and allow the team more flexibility, while Mitchell signed a max extension.  Kind of competing actions.  They still have some tax room but short of a sign and trade, I am not sure they can offer LeBron anything other than a min deal.  I think they could use their MLE (tax payer) if they clear some cap holds.
