I think there is no big fish.

There will likely be a fish of some size because of how big George's contract is, but I can't imagine the Celtics having enough ammo for someone like Jokic or Ant. And I doubt Stevens would even want Ant given his desire to desperately ship off Jaylen.

It'll likely be somebody that has good advanced stats and fits well within our system. That's what we'll be told anyway. I wouldn't even be surprised if George has a decent season, and then declines his option next year to sign a 3yr contract at lesser aav.

Your second paragraph is something I find more likely than your first paragraph.  I do not think that after George we are going to have a second $50+ million contract, at least not until inflation makes $30 million the new $50 million.

at this point, I suspect there's better odds that Tatum will get traded for "optionality" in several years when the C's don't reach another conference finals and they try to cash him in for something than the odds the C's are built back up into a real contender while Tatum is in his prime.

Jokic already won a championship in Denver and he loves it there. He does not strike me as a player that would ask to be moved.

I do not think Anthony Edwards would be willing to be a #2 option on a team. I don?t see that move either.

I think the big fish Brad will be shooting for is a decent player who is an analytics darling like a Trey Murphy or something. Plus a half decent player in the trade to make salaries work.

I would be very surprised if we get an all star or former MVP back. Management clearly believes in Tatum and it seems like whoever we get will be meant to complement him. Management also clearly believes in depth so I do not think they will go the route of another max-ish player.

I would think this means in terms of roster, the team wants a big defensive center (like a Mitchell Robinson), a change-of-pace microwave scorer (like a Pritchard), and a lockdown 3D who can take on the tough matchups. Very Nowitzki-like in terms of roster construction when I look at it

BOS was willing to trade for Giannis so I wouldn't rule out anything.  BOS was fine with (2) supermax deals if the second one was Giannis but apparently not so much if the second one is Brown.

If they could trade Paul George and 4 firsts for Jokic, I suspect they do it.  That would be the (2) picks they were willing to throw in with Brown for Giannis plus the (2) picks they got from PHI.  Maybe the seconds too for Jokic.  I am not holding my breath that Jokic will be traded.
