PG will be a very valuable addition to the Cs, not only due to his basketball skill  but also his experience. Unlike Brown, Tatum will see him not as  his competitor but his mentor. I hope Tatum will learn alot from him.

I think that the biggest deficit Tatum has is the ability to be a vocal leader, and I'm not sure George has that skill set, either.

I agree. It feels like we?re missing that one guy who can steady the ship when things start going south in the fourth quarter. Brown, for all his shortcomings, would always step up and take charge. Hopefully, PG?s efficient style of play can earn his teammates? trust, bring them together, and help get the best out of everyone.

This is where we sorely miss a guy like Jrue.

No doubt.  There are certain players that have great talent, but they don't really fit anywhere; it's basically impossible to put complementary players around them. Monta Ellis was the epitome of that type of player for me.  And then there are guys like Jrue, who could literally fit into any team in the NBA and make them better.

He was also just a very steadying influence on the team.  He could sense flow and slow things down if necessary. Especially if the Jays were trying to force things.

Hard to disagree with that.  If we had Jrue Holiday on the floor instead of Baylor Scheierman or any of the other random wings, no doubt the team is much better.  But that is not the reality of this roster right now in the age of the salary cap aprons.  I think in general, Tatum and George and White should be able to provide the veteran presence to get through stretches like this in most cases.  But there will be some meltdowns.

BTW, speaking of random wings (coined by Celtics2021), where has he been lately?

Good question. Looks like he hasn't been on since August.  Hope everything is alright with him.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I thought he might just be taking the offseason "off" from this site.  Hope he's ok, I enjoyed his posts.

Any chance Byennie could send him an email to see what's up?

Judging by his last few posts, I would be surprised if he comes back. I tried to send him a message through this site and it said the user cannot receive personal messages.
