Welcome Paul George.  Expectations should be about 50 games and 15 ppg, supportive of younger teammates, good fit with JT, PP, and DW, good shooting % (37%+ from 3) and solid defense.

All above is reasonable. If HuBaWa can reduce PGs minutes to 25-28 all the better.

HuBaWa?  Is this the new moniker for "random wing"?  Have you cleared this with Celtics2021?  I think he claimed the trademark.  ;)

You hit on something I have been thinking about.  PG does seem like the type that will be a good influence on the young players, in his quiet, mellow way.

PG is our guy now, like it or not (and apparently there are some that don't like it).

Who does like it, compared to JB?

Two different things.  Paul George cannot replace Jaylen Brown but that does not mean he won't contribute to the team in his own way.  I have accepted the trade and now I want to focus on what PG can do to help the Celtics.

I have said many times that I don't like the trade, that I do not think the trade made the team better.  But that does not mean I don't like PG.  I am not going to dwell on this.  I like what I saw from PG in the playoffs and I hope he keeps that up for the Celtics.  And we will see if Management is able to do anything with the picks or otherwise to help the team.

Yeah, not approved.  Random Wing (TM) also includes Harper and Hauser.

So, you're among the people that don't like that PG is our guy now.  That makes your "apparently" clause seem odd.

lol. you are grasping and coping. boston choked hard in playoffs blowing a 3-1 series lead for the FIRST TIME IN HISTORY!  maxey and embiid are what made philly capitalize on our choking. PG is not a difference maker. that 3 point % he had in playoffs will NOT hold up.we have gotten collectively worse not better.

I have no idea what this means.  I don't like that Brown NOT being one of our guys anymore.  I am fine that George is one of our guys and I plan to root for him and hope for the best.  It is irrespective of how Paul George got here.  How he got here is water under the bridge at this point and PG is not to blame for how he got here.

That is what I mean by two separate things.

I considered the full five wing version but thought I?d start small. I don?t think there?s any stopping it now.

Sure, but PG isn't here without JB being moved.  So, those who don't like PG being here are those who think it was a poor trade.  Which seemingly includes you, making it odd that you'd implicitly criticize those that are "apparently" in the "not like it" category.

So, perhaps instead of parenthetical snark, you simply say "Paul George is our guy now, so hopefully Celtics fans will cheer for him no matter how they feel about the trade".

I will be rooting for Paul George and I hope everyone else does as well. If he plays well, it should be easier to move him.  :D

Also, he didn?t trade himself to Boston, Brad did. He does not deserve to be booed by fans, IMO.

For those who who want a little refresher of Paul George's current game, Timi put a nice 2025-26 highlights compilation together. Obviously these are just highlights, but the things that stand out is his ability to still move well, use his body, his overall defense, solid passing reads, and of course his shooting.

He doesn't have the lift he once had, but the biggest thing holding him back from being a big contributor is his health. Hopefully we have a plan in place like we did with Al and KP.

I am going to root for Paul George too.  I root for the team, not individuals.
