Jaylen streaming on Twitch right now talking about the trade and other things

For anyone interested Jaylen is streaming (again) on Twitch, ruminating about a range of topics including the media beat up, the trade, Colin Cowherd, Bobby Marks, and how hard it will be for him to "reverse engineer his brain" to start cheering for Philly when he's been programmed to hate Philly as a Celtic.

He keeps repeating "Boston rolled me up, packed me up, sayonara baby...they say it's a business, they treated me like a business, told me to get on out of here". Sounds a bit bitter about how it all went down.

Says he wishes it could have been explained to him better...sounds like he was as surprised as we were about the trade. Says he's not going to be losing any sleep about it though.

Keeps ranting about anonymous sources from the media attacking his character, calling him arrogant, etc. Says people weren't comfortable with the level of authenticity he brought. Says people like Cowherd, Simmons, Marks, etc should say who their source is if they are going to slander people.

Emphasizes that "the younger guys" on the Celtics have reached out to him and he appreciates it, says it was still his favorite year, and he says it was an honor to play with the younger guys. Says everyone dismissed their achievement because of how it ended but he loved the process, they could have rolled over but they fought, but people only care about championships and dismissed their achievements beating expectations because they didn't win a championship.

Says his brain is going crazy about what's just happened.

Says he wishes more could have been shared with him about the trade, said the reasons all happened behind the scenes, says he felt he deserved an explanation but nothing was given.

Says he appreciates the fans, supporters, the city of Boston, said he put his heart into the city, loved the community, he's grateful for his experience, he grew up in Boston, wishes it could have been more...but didn't mention JT or his teammates by name, or Brad or the front office. I get the sense he's kind of upset about how it happened and I guess he mustn't have seen it coming. Says he is still processing it and will be for a while but he's going to be all set to go at the start of the season and is excited once he get over his pre-programmed hate for Philly, he says its got its own culture, and fans, and he's planning to earn the fans respect.

Caught the tailend of the stream, he thanked the city of Boston, the community, etc. No mention of the Celtics management/players/owners. Not sure if he talked about them previous to this.

I went and watched it again and he had this to say about Brad before I joined the stream:

"Brad is getting a lot of criticism, I wasn't thrilled at how he facilitated a lot of the conversations, but I definitely think there was more to it"

"I wasn't thrilled with the amount of respect that was shown during this process. There was a bit of a lack of respect. I think it was fine at one point, and then... things just kind of went left."

I don't believe he mentioned any of his teammates by name. When I mentioned "younger guys" in my summary above, specifically he mentioned they reached out to him to thank him for his leadership and say how much they appreciated him as a mentor.

This is where it gets tricky. Because he could have easily rebutted what TMac said about wanting to have his own team etc. We don?t know what conversations he and Brad had previous to the trade but miscommunication seems to have really played a big part in him getting shipped.

How he points out the "younger guys" reached out to him. What about the older guys? The vets? Did they? Or did he say that because they didn't?

My biggest takeaway is when he referenced how he thinks Stevens is getting a lot of slander, and that he was frustrated by the whole process leading up to the trade. BUT he then said, "there's more to it" and repeated it multiple times.

That speaks volumes. Brad said he's had honest conversations with Jaylen throughout and Jaylen didn't deny that nor did he directly call out Brad. I think that's a sign that Jaylen believes this was ownership-driven and/or maybe even had to do with Mazzulla, since Mazzulla has his 3-point philosophy and Jaylen doesn't like that philosophy either.

I lean more towards Jaylen believing this was driven by private equity ownership.

I hate it when players say "there is more to it" but refuse to say whatever that was.

If you are going say it then say it. Don't half say it.

When do we address the elephant in the room? 

We didn't hear a peep out of Tatum when his brother was getting dragged through the mud by everybody with access to a microphone.  And when Jaylen was handing out his goodbyes, somebody's name was conspicuously absent. 

I think that's your smoking gun.  Not Brad.  Not even Chisholm.  We didn't save enough money on the deal for it to be ownership-driven.  I'm not even convinced that it was an analytics-driven move.  I'm sure that influenced the, erm, "value" we got back in the deal, but the Celtics seemed just fine with Brown's impact, analytics be d***ed, for ten years until suddenly they weren't. 

I'll be the one to say it:  I think Tatum wanted his team back.

Is this what Jaylen was saying about "there's more to it"? He was talking about Brad - Brad was saying part of the story but Jaylen felt Brad was not telling him the other part of the story about why he wanted to trade Jaylen.
