Mannix seems to think Trey Murphy is their next target. I don't see it though

How would this trade be possible, salaries wise? I thought we needed Brown for a Murphy trade?

I think we can trade Hauser and picks for Murphy and absorb him with the TPE, espn trade machine has it as a valid trade.

One I did think of is George plus our 2027 first for Zion, maybe add a couple seconds. Zion is polarizing though I may want to take a chance on a 25 year old with talent verses George. Zion makes 42 million so the trade will work for salary matching though more salaries could be added as the Pelicans would be taking on an additional roughly 13 million in a straight swap.

I believe that George + Hauser for Zion + Murphy works, but not sure if this is something NOP would do.  If they did, the net of all this would be:

Zion, Murphy, 2 firsts
for
George, Hauser

I believe this would put us (keep us) a little over the tax but well under the first apron.  If this was the end result, I would feel a lot better about this.

Why would Pels give up 2 firsts in addition to Murphy and Zion? I think the Celtics would need to be the team giving up pick(s) to obtain those two guys.

I don?t know about everyone else, but I would be happy with a starting 5 of:

White, Murphy, Tatum, Zion, Queta

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

This would be absolutely sick. I hope Brad can pull this out of his hat.

I might like our lineup more than the Sixers actually lol

White has been declining for 3 years.  At least his numbers have been.  I don't expect the cliff next year though. More of the same slight decline.

He just made 1st Team All-Defense and led the East in +/- (4th in the league). So his shooting fell off a little bit last year, that's it. That doesn't mean it's gone forever. He's going into his 10th season - same as Tatum - so even if he's a little older, he doesn't have a ton of mileage. He also has pretty much no injury history. I feel good about the next few years with White.

I am saying that the net of the PHI trade and this potential NOP trade would include the two picks we get from PHI (which is really a pick and a swap).  Not two picks from NOP.

Brown out to PHI, Hauser out to NOP for a net return of Zion, Murphy, and the Pick + Swap from PHI (with George going to NOP).

I don't disagree that this may not do it for NOP unless they really want to be done with Zion.  It may take BOS adding picks to NOP.  Up to a point, I would be OK with that.

Unless we are trading White, any Murphy trade starts and ends with George. Since we used the MLE on Robinson, we are hardcapped at the 1st apron. And trading Hauser doesn't give us anywhere near enough space to trade for Murphy's $27M contract.

So we can try to figure out Paul George trades that get us Murphy, but I wouldn't count on us getting far with that proposal.

Yeah I think this is why we are not going to see that other shoe this year.  We would have to trade PG but in order to trade that contract we would likely have to attach picks to make it happen and then additional picks to get back someone we want.  That just does not feel realistic unfortunately.
