I wish but I sadly think we will be waiting 1-2 years for that other shoe to drop.

If that?s the case, they should just trade Tatum and go full rebuild. Why would JT want to stick around for that? He wants to be competing for championships. They would be wasting his prime.

Because 1-2 years is nothing. If that prediction became reality, that this team is championship ready in 27-28 or 28-29, that should be music to all our ears.

I would be surprised if there were any other significant moves this offseason. We got PG, Robinson and Conley. I think we?re pretty much done

I?m going to remain hopeful that Brad will move Paul George and picks to upgrade the roster at some point this coming season. Stevens brought in White, Jrue, and KP. He has a history of making big moves. The JB trade was disappointing, but I do not think we should give up hope at this point.

Maybe Brad will surprise us. We did get Jrue very late in the offseason a couple years ago.

George?s contract will be difficult to move, and if you are talking about adding picks why not just keep Brown. Saying that, possibly lower level picks than the ones just acquired could net an upgrade, but the possibilities seem very narrow.

One I did think of is George plus our 2027 first for Zion, maybe add a couple seconds. Zion is polarizing though I may want to take a chance on a 25 year old with talent verses George. Zion makes 42 million so the trade will work for salary matching though more salaries could be added as the Pelicans would be taking on an additional roughly 13 million in a straight swap.

If we end up keeping George he is a winning player, though he hardly plays in recent years. Lol

The Ketamine kid has negative trade value.  I can't imagine that another team will have interest.

I do think we will trade to get under the tax bill, period.

I could see them cutting Banton and giving away Hauser to get out of any tax bill.

I'm hoping we already are under the tax. PG, please please please waive your trade kicker

i don't think there's another shoe. this was a directional move. sure, an opportunity will open up. but it's not going to be one of a type that could only happen if this trade was made.

the team clearly prefers to risk a full rebuild rather than try to win with JT and JB. they'll try to patchwork some sense of competitiveness together, but if that fails, White is gone and Tatum is unhappy (or gone) and then they'll try to sell the fan base on a youth movement/rebuild. that buys them time, delays expectations and refocuses interest. it's wild to choose that when you already have the type of players you can only hope a rebuild would replace.

I believe that George + Hauser for Zion + Murphy works, but not sure if this is something NOP would do.  If they did, the net of all this would be:

Zion, Murphy, 2 firsts
for
George, Hauser

I believe this would put us (keep us) a little over the tax but well under the first apron.  If this was the end result, I would feel a lot better about this.

If this is it...then it is very underwhelming and not good. Roster still needs work IMO. Cannot count on an old PG to give you more than 50 games.

Haha - maybe Philly will toss in an additional 2nd round pick if he does. No way is Brad going to let this amazing deal fall through

What moves can be realistically made?

You can trade PG but that means you have to give up a pick on top of things and NOBODY wants this washed bum.

I believe you need to wait 60 days to combine George?s salary with another salary in a trade, so you could still potentially do this prior to the season. It?s hard to see the incentive for New Orleans depending on which picks we would trade.

This is correct. PG can be traded by himself immediately. He cannot be traded with other players for 60 days.
