I am excited to watch Philly next season.

Maxey & Edgecombe & Jaylen & Embiid = that's fun.

This is a very poor trade on many levels.    All Chisholm cares about is the tax, not winning.

SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark

I'm gonna need Stevens AND Bill Chisolm to have a press conference asap to explain this. Because this is unacceptable

Wasting Tatum's prime years.

This is horrendous.

That is a play in to low seed in the east at best
that team is better than the Celtics team that just got the 2nd seed

No it is not.

Firstly it would be foolish to pencil in Paul George, whos career has been blighted by injury and is 36 years old. Paul George has only played 78 games in two seasons for the 76ers. Tatum is still returning from major surgery too. Mitchell Robinson has only played in 77 regular season games in two seasons for New York.

The Celtics (most likely) had the best core availability in the NBA last season, that will completely change now.

The Pacers with Zubac & Haliburton back are better than the Celtics. So are the Heat now they have Giannis & the Raptors with Kawhi Leonard. At best the Celtics are the 7th best team in the east.

I do not think you understand how bad this decision was. Paul George and his super max contract had the worst value in the NBA (perhaps besides Embiid). Any team that took on his contract would expect a first round pick in return. The Celtics essentially traded Jaylen Brown for one first round pick.

It is because Boston was not going to give JB the extension. And from there a trade was going to be made.

So the 76ers own their own pick in 2028 only if its 1-8. My guess is the C's get to swap with PHI if the PHILI picks fall's in the 1-8 range. If its not then Boston will instead outright get the LAC pick? Or maybe it a simple "Boston gets best of Clippers/76ers" and the swap stuff is just a misreporting. Not sure what the deal is, but either way I suspect the pick will have major upside.

The 2031 PHI pick is also valuable. Nobody on the 76ers in currently under contract for that year, an by then PHI will likely have massive tax issues.

So ya, the picks are actually pretty good, maybe even very good. The other motivation for this is money. Because of a trade kicker PG will actually makes EVEN MORE than JB this year. But they ave a few million next year when George picks up his player option.  And most importantly they save A TON OF MONEY in years 3, 4, 5 vs having to pay Jaylen a mass extension. Noboy expects them to extend PG, it would be insane to extend a 36-year-old, so they essentially get to be cheap under cover of this trade.

Your handle was a dark day. So was Reggie. So was Pitino demoting Red. This is bad, so bad. It?s up there. I?m disgusted.

I can?t be the only one who thought this was a hoax.

I am reading through this thread and I keep waiting to see this deal is misreported and there is more coming back to Boston.

But it is not happening ...

We had 2.5 years to make that trade, though.  Brad panicked and took less value than Danny got for a restricted free agent.

2028 is going to be a lottery pick from the Clippers. That is going to be a good pick.

This was all about finances, resetting next year, not having 2 super max players and getting off possibly 5 more years of JB at 5-70 mill a season.

PG is a two year experiment where they probably dump him after he opts in for his last year.

Problem is they wasted JT's prime with this.

G: Maxey, Labaron Philon
G: Edgecombe
F: Jaylen
F: LeBron, Dean Wade

They were better off just tanking last year and trading Jaylen then. What a joke
