Philadelphia is going to be much, much better next season. Look, I could see if this were a salary dump, but PG is on the books for the same money over the next two years. I don?t think this is a decision driven by on-court talent.
This is a supermax issue combined with the new CBA?s second apron. Teams are literally punished for drafting players who develop into stars because then you have to pay them the supermax and end up up against the second apron. It?s a system that doesn?t make sense and needs to be addressed.
The league will probably address it now that the Celtics have traded away a superstar for a bag of balls.
