Done deal: The LA Clippers and Raptors have both agreed to complete the trade sending Kawhi Leonard to Toronto for Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, two unprotected first-round picks, one first-round pick swap and two second-rounders, per ESPN sources. The sides will now schedule a trade call.
Crooked Kawhi nets that for the Clips and we get complete crap for Jaylen??!!!  Fire Brad

Teams didn?t want to pay Jaylen the supermax. Kawhi isn?t making and isn?t eligible for a supermax. It is that simple.
and Kawhi doesn't play that many games, is much older and on the downside of his career and still making a buttload of money.  it's NOT that simple.  not that I wanted to trade JB but that would have been a much more understandable package

Leonard played in 65 games last season. He averaged 28pts/6rebs/4ast with 51/39/89 shooting splits. He is a better overall player than JB, makes less money and has won multiple championships including one in Toronto.
he plays sparingly
24-25 - 37 games
23-24 - 68
22-23 - 52
21-22 - 0
20-21 - 52
19-21 - 57
18-19 - 60
not exactly the ironman you make him out to be.  also, he's 35 so he's not likely to repeat last year's numbers and not just because he's on a better team in Toronto.  He's making over 50 mill too so he's not making much less than Jaylen.  He is on a shorter deal but no way Toronto traded that package for someone they intend to let walk after this season and I seriously doubt Kawhi is the type to take a paycut to help out Toronto.  I would be stunned if he doesn't expect to get a 3-year deal for close to the same money.

given all that, Jaylen's the better option.  oh, Jaylen's also a champion -- finals MVP to boot.  Kawhi having one more title isn't the difference maker you imply it should be.

If Kawhi expects a 3-year $150 million deal then he's gonna be seriously disappointed. No one will offer him anything near that, even under the table

Even 3/$100 million seems like a stretch
I'm bitter.

I never said he was an iron man. Just responding to your claim that Kawhi does not play in many games after he just played in 65 last year. Kawhi is older than JB, but right now he is a better overall player. Better shooter, better defender, higher BBIQ.  Maybe in 3 years he won?t be as good, but right now he is. Brown is eligible for a supermax extension which is projected to be $142M over two years. So $7OM+/year. Kawhi won?t be close to that. If I was Toronto, I?d also rather have Leonard over the next 2-3 years.
