BOS trades:  Brown, White
BOS receives:  Sengun, Morant, four #1s from HOU, one #1 from MEM

HOU trades:  Sengun, Van Vleet, Finney-Smith, four #1s, #2
HOU receives:  Brown, White

MEM trades:  Morant, #1
MEM receives: Van Vleet, Finney-Smith, #2

That's basically the start of a rebuild for us, with Tatum and Morant providing a credible duo in the short-term.

Sengun / Queta
Tatum
Hauser / Scheierman
Hugo / Harper
Morant / Pritchard

Picks:

2027:  Best of HOU, BRK, PHX
2028: MEM
2029:  Best of HOU, DAL, PHX
2031: HOU
2033: HOU

Does Houston have the picks to trade?

They're loaded:

The guy I'd really want is Thompson, but they wouldn't give him up.

Sorry, where does Ja end up in this deal? I see him outgoing but not incoming.

I think MEM will need 2 of those firsts for Morant. Not because Morant is worth that or has that market value but because MEM are refusing to trade Morant because his market value is so low. They don't see the point. And they won't give up their own 1st either. They feel they are better off standing pat.

Maybe they change their mind and do dump Morant.

But it looks like they won't do so.

Interesting trade proposal. I don?t think Houston would give up that Many picks considering they?d be giving up Sengun and paying JB a ton of money.

Boston would need another scorer in that starting lineup, though. There isn?t enough shooting with Sengun, Morant, Hugo.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Yeah, it would be silly for any team to give up positive value for Morant.  I get it if they don't want to give up value to dump him, but my guess is that he'll force the issue eventually.

Yeah, I'd see Sengun and Jaylen as a fair swap. A 1 for 1 exchange. No further assets required. Maybe you get one 1st round pick. Maybe. I don't see HOU putting up multiples on top of Sengun.

I think you get 4 picks for Jaylen if they keep Sengun. So say Van Vleet & DFS for Jaylen. That can get you 4 picks. They aren't giving up much talent so they need the draft capital as a counter-balance.

Gotta start Baylor over Hugo.

It is interesting. It would leave Tatum as the only plus defender in the starting lineup. Mediocre defenders in Sengun, Hauser, Baylor. A well below average defender in Morant. So ...

Going back to the point of the team needing another scorer or more shooting in the starting lineup, is the offense even good enough to generate enough points if the defense is that dodgy?

It does have very good passing though. Morant is a high level playmaker. Sengun is a high level playmaker. Tatum is a very good to high level playmaking PF. A lot of passing to generate open looks. A fun offense for shooters like Hauser & Baylor.

I agree for Jaylen they would not but they are also getting White in this deal and he is what Houston really needs so I could see it in that case.

It is a tough one as it honestly makes sense I just have a tough time seeing that team compete come playoff time and it pains me to rebuild during Tatums prime although I know this would likely be more of a retool than rebuild of course.

I forgot about D White. So 2-3 firsts for D White. Maybe another 1st for getting out of that DFS contract given how badly he played last year.

HOU trades:  Sengun, Van Vleet, Finney-Smith, four #1s, #2
HOU receives:  Brown, White

G: D White, Reed Sheppard
G: Amen, Okogie
F: Jaylen, T Eason
F: Durant, Jabari Smith Jr
C: S Adams, C Capela

Hmm ...

I don't think that squad is any better than their current squad with Sengun & VanVleet.

I do think we are going to see a big improvement out of HOU next year with the return of VanVleet. He was a big loss. And they had no replacement at PG for him. I expect HOU to be a 60 win team or near to it next season. HOU's front office feels the same way which is why they did not pursue Giannis.

I was hoping they'd do:

Brown, Pritchard, Queta, Garza, Walsh

for

Sengun, Amen Thompson, Reed Sheppard and Finney Smith

I would do that in a cocaine heartbeat.  I absolutely love Thompson.

I Love Amen Thompson as well, I have like 12 rookie cards of his, most of them signed! So, I would love him in green! I don't see Houston trading him though.
