I was hoping they'd do:

Brown, Pritchard, Queta, Garza, Walsh

for

Sengun, Amen Thompson, Reed Sheppard and Finney Smith

I would do that in a cocaine heartbeat.  I absolutely love Thompson.
I Love Amen Thompson as well, I have like 12 rookie cards of his, most of them signed! So, I would love him in green! I don't see Houston trading him though.

well, if VanVleet has more injury trouble, maybe they'd do the above deal if we swapped White for Van Vleet as well.   Start Reed Sheppard and sign a back up PG....or two..

I love Brown, but the duo of he and Tatum to me does create some issues...  that's the only reason I look around for Brown trades...if Tatum were traded and brought back even more, I"d be ok with Brown and a new roster around hiim..

Interesting trade proposal. I don?t think Houston would give up that Many picks considering they?d be giving up Sengun and paying JB a ton of money.

Yeah, I'd see Sengun and Jaylen as a fair swap. A 1 for 1 exchange. No further assets required. Maybe you get one 1st round pick. Maybe. I don't see HOU putting up multiples on top of Sengun.

I think you get 4 picks for Jaylen if they keep Sengun. So say Van Vleet & DFS for Jaylen. That can get you 4 picks. They aren't giving up much talent so they need the draft capital as a counter-balance.

Agreed.  This is almost exactly what I proposed a day or so ago.

I love Sengun.  We haven't had a player like that since young(er) Horford.

Houston has to go all-in this year due to Durant's age.  Otherwise, why keep him?

Trade him to a team that is on the brink in the East, which is easier (like Detroit) or do everything you can to win the chip this year, if you're Houston.

Jaylen for Sengun, DFS and 1 of Capela/Adams is something I would think about. I probably still wouldn't do it, but I'd consider it. Then you can use the MLE to sign a guard in FA, and I still think Hauser + pick(s) can be flipped for another small addition and to offload his salary. Houston keeps Thompson + their picks, and try to win it all with FVV, Jaylen, Thompson, Durant, Jabari Smith, etc. and I'm sure they can add another center in the offseason alongside whoever stays between Capela/Adams.

Why for us?  Sengun is younger, but he's also got holes in his game and will never be as good as JB.

As others say here, get it done Brad!  (although I still want one of those 1sts)

Jaylen Brown with Tatum has averaged above 25 ppg just 1 time, his only all nba season (again with Tatum).  With Tatum, Brown has not averaged more than 4.5 apg or 6.9 rpg. Sengun as a 2nd option this year averaged 20.4, 8.9, 6.2. He had less tpg than Brown as well.  Whether or not Sengun is better than Brown is irrelevant to me as I thibk he will produce better numbers and be a better fit for the team.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

You care about better statistics moreso than who is a better player?  That's an odd thing to say.

Other odd things here:  Sengun has never averaged 25.0 ppg (without Tatum) either, nor has he ever been All-NBA.  JB did have another season averaging 24.7 ppg with Tatum, though, and his *lowest* scoring season over the past seven years matched Sengun's last year.  And, I'm not particularly shocked that Houston's center outrebounded our small forward.

According to Lowe, Houston hasn't really engaged nor are they seriously interested in Jaylen. My guess is they want to keep Thompson and Sengun

Player A: 16.9 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 3.8 apg, 0.8 spg, 0.7 bpg, 1.3 tpg
Player B:  20.4 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 6.5 apg, 1.2 spg, 1.1 bpg, 3.2 tpg

Player A:  37.6% 3PT%, 56.8% 2PT%, 82.8% FT%, .567 eFG%, .585 TS%
Player B: 30.5% 3PT%, 54.7% 2PT%, 69.1% FT%, .537 eFG%, .569 TS%

Our coach turned Player A into a spot up shooter in Boston and barely let him touch the ball.  He cost us a pending free agent and the #38 pick in the draft.

Player B would cost us a 2nd Team All-NBA star.
