I don't like ATL making that pick. I think they should have traded and gotten an upgrade to their roster.

I don't think K Flemings makes a positive impact for them for several years. They have gone from a big backcourt to a small one with McCollum and K Flemings alongside NAW. Only 1 of their 3 main guards now has legit size / defense.

No trades so far. Johnson the first surprise, although not even THAT far ahead of where most ha him mocked.

Every year we hear about all the trades that will happen on draft night and then there are absolutely none.

Johnson is going to do a lot of the dirty work for Flagg and the Mavs
Not much shooting between the two of them.

Dallas' two centers (Lively, Gafford) are non-shooters too.

I?m hoping the Celtics draft Evans from Duke or Swain from Texas.

I hope the C's get either Veesaar, Reed Jr, Quaintance or Ejiofor

I prefer the big out of North Carolina or Thomas from Arkansas.

Really want a true big or someone that can shoot.

Flemings is 6'4".  He has plenty of size as a PG.  Also, I don't think they start both McCollum and Flemings, one starts, one is the 6th man.  They need Daniels' defense in the starting lineup and NAW's shooting.  So I imagine CJ starts the year as the starter and maybe by the end of the year if Flemings progresses well, he takes it over or he just waits a year and starts in his 2nd year with CJ then moving to the 6th man role.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Surprised at Johnson at 9. Suspect he'll be a really good player.

Is Brayden Burries just a role player?

Does he have star potential?

Feels like a strange pick for MIL. A team in desperate need for star talent. Not role players.

The 6-4 was a lie. He measured 6-2. Small wingspan (6-3). Middling standing reach (8-2). He is a smaller guard.

G: McCollum, K Flemings
G: NAW, (Aaron Wiggins)
F: D Daniels, Kuminga, (Risacher)
F: Jalen Johnson, Mo Gueye
C: Okongwu, (FA)

Of their 3 main guards in their rotation. Two (McCollum, Flemings) are undersized guards and deficient defenders.

Fascinated by what Brad does. So many holes he can fill with even a low first round pick.

He has to get someone that can contribute. No trading out.

OKC being able to pick at 12 feels unfair lol

Milwaukee got a lot of two guards now.

G: Ryan Rollins
G: Tyler Herro

The starting backcourt. Maybe they bring back Kevin Porter Jr as backup PG. Maybe they don't. They just got Kasparas Jakucionis from Miami. They already had AJ Green. They also have Gary Trent Jr. Now add Brayden Burries to the mix.

MIL already had a problem last year with no SFs on their roster other than Kuzma which forced them to play SGs at SF. Looks like they will be doing the same thing again next year.

Yup.

I wonder if Aday Mara is being seen as a long term replacement for Isaiah Hartenstein. Reminds me of when they drafted Steven Adams (also around 12th pick) when they had Kendrick Perkins.

On the other hand, I don't think Mara is good enough to crack their rotation next year. Hartenstein and Jaylin Williams ahead of him in the depth chart.
