Shams Charania: The Memphis Grizzlies are trading Santi Aldama to the Dallas Mavericks for AJ Johnson, a protected 2030 Warriors first-round pick and two future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN

Man, this is a nice get for Dallas.

I wish Brad did that trade. Aldama would have been a great backup forward for us.

Quote
Bobby Marks: The $17M salary of Aldama goes into the $20.8M exception created from the Anthony Davis trade in February. Aldama has 2 years left: $17M and $17M (T) Johnson has 2 years left: $3.2M and $5.4M (T)

I am trying to figure out Dallas' forward depth now.

G: Kyrie, Ryan Nembhard
G: Max Christie, Klay Thompson, S de Larrea
F: Cooper Flagg, Naji Marshall, Caleb Martin
F: PJ Washington, Santi Aldama, Morez Johnson
C: D Lively, D Gafford

They got more forwards than they know what to do with. They just selected Morez Johnson in the draft and can't get him any playing time. They got 4 forwards who deserve 30+mpg. Then Caleb Martin as a 5th forward and their lotto pick as a 6th forward.

KOC believes San Antonio got worse by adding Tobias Harris. Not a fan of Harris. Average low volume offensive efficiency + replacement level defense. KOC also believes his addition will stop the development of Carter Bryant.

KOC would prefer San Antonio did not spend the MLE at all over signing Tobias Harris with it.

Free agent center Marvin Bagley III has agreed to a one-year deal with the Denver Nuggets, sources tell ESPN. A critical frontcourt addition for the Nuggets.

I am guessing Bagley will be their new backup center behind Jokic and they will waive Valanciunas in the next few days. Only $2mil of his $10mil deal is guaranteed. And he has another contract lined up back in Europe in Lithuania.
